Callie POV
I had never been so scared in my entire life, standing in the hospital room and watching the doctor examine my baby.
Doctor- has she been fussy lately?
Callie- yeah.. a little more than usual I guess
Doctor- when did you first notice the fever?
Callie- about an hour ago, she started crying so I went to check on her..
Doctor- so it came on pretty suddenly?
Callie- um.. I guess she was little warm earlier but.. I didn't think..
Brandon- whats wrong with her?
Doctor- Colleen has aortic stenosis, basically she has pressure pushing on one of her heart valves
Brandon- can you give her medicine or something to fix it..
Doctor- the only way to relieve the pressure is through surgery..
Brandon- surgery?
Callie- will she be okay?
Doctor- I can't answer that.. we need to do the surgery immediately, your going to need to sign some consent forms and I'll send a nurse in to prep her..
Brandon POV
Callie and I sat in the waiting room.
Brandon- I called moms.. to let them know whats going on, they said they would come as soon as they could..
Callie- how could I not know something was wrong, I'm her mother.. I should have known
Brandon- Callie, you can't blame yourself..
Callie- oh God, what if something happens to her
Brandon- Colleen will be fine
Callie- you don't know that!
Doctor- Mr. and Mrs. Foster
Brandon- how is she?
Doctor- the surgery went good, we relieved the pressure and she seems to be doing well
Callie- thank God..
Doctor- we want to keep her here for another day but everything looks good
Callie- can we see her?
Doctor- yes, I'll take you back
We followed the doctor back to the room and he left us alone with Colleen. She had oxygen hooked up to her and tube coming out of her side. We went up to her, I reached my hand out to her and she wrapped her hand around my finger.
Callie- shes so strong..
Brandon- of course she is.. shes your daughter
