summary : in which Grayson and Ethan compete for your affection, may the best twin win.

You were headed over to the Dolan's house for thanksgiving dinner.

The Dolan's have been your family's friends since you and the boys were mere babies. It all started with your mom and Lisa. They had been friends ever since high school, when you were born right after Lisa's sons were born, both mothers knew that you three would be great friends. You were inexplicably close to Grayson and Ethan having been best friends for almost 18 years.

You held the big bowl of stuffing that your mom made as you walked up the doorsteps to the Dolan's house hold.

Grayson greeted you as he opened the door for you, "Hey (Y/N)." "Hey Gray" you smile back.

You put the big bowl onto the counter and you hear Lisa talking to your mom. You made your way to them and gave Lisa and Sean a big hug.

You see Ethan taking a nap on the couch. Grayson decides to hop on him, waking him immediately. His angry face made you giggle automatically.

"Bro what the hell" he mumbled pushing Grayson off of him. "Ethan!" Lisa scolds him. "Sorry mom" he rubs his eyes tiredly. He finally sees you and his eyes widen. "(Y/N)" he hopped off of the couch and engulfed you in a tight hug. "Good to see you too Ethan" you giggle holding onto him as you were lifted in the air. "Ethan don't kill her" Grayson replied as he put you down.

"So where's Cameron?" You ask Sean. "She should be coming later, she's out running errands, I believe." "Oh okay" you nod.

"Hey (Y/N) can you go with the boys to pick up some last minute spices?" Lisa asked from the kitchen. "Of course" you smiled. "I'm driving!" Grayson yelled. "Nope I'm driving!" Ethan argued back. You shook your head and met the boys at the front door. You snatched the car keys from between Grayson and Ethan. "How about I drive boys?" You smirk before walking out to the car.

Ethan took shot gun and Grayson sat in the back. You buckled your seatbelt and started the car.

The whole time at the store it felt as if Grayson and Ethan kept competing to get your attention. You shook the idea that they could possibly like you off years ago but today they were both being extra friendly and it was quite odd.

You bought the spices that your mom and Lisa needed and headed back to the Dolan's home.

After you entered the house, the boys ran off to god knows where. You were about to follow them when it appeared that you were needed in the kitchen. "Oh well" you thought.

You helped Lisa and your mother finish the last few touches to the thanksgiving dinner and began to serve food to the whole family.

Throughout the dinner, Grayson and Ethan kept sharing glances at each other and at you. You didn't pay much mind to it though. You decided to just converse with Cameron.

After dinner, all the adults went out back in the backyard to have some drinks. You decided it would be nice to start washing the dishes. Before you're able to grab the first plate there is a tap on your shoulder. You turn around to see Ethan and Grayson. "Hey (Y/N) can we talk to you?" Ethan started. "Yea somewhere private?" Grayson mentioned.

"Okayyyy" you dragged on, with a skeptic look.

The twins pull you outside and sit you on the outdoor swing they have in their backyard. Standing in front of you, they took a deep breath and looked at you deep in the eyes.

"You go first" Ethan shoved Grayson. "No you" gray pushed back. "Fine" Ethan huffed.

Ethan looked at you with wide eyes and fear written all over his face. "I like you."

Right in that moment your heart beat faster than ever and then Grayson decided to open his mouth.

"I also like you." Oh lord. You had been so close with both of the twins and you really don't wanna hurt either of them.

They both looked at you in anticipation.

"I-i don't know what to say" you were utterly shell shocked. You took a deep breath, "I um" you kept glancing between the two boys who wore anxious looks.

"Let us both take you out on a date and then you can choose" Grayson suggested. Ethan nodded his head in agreement.

"Umm Okay, but no matter what happens, you guys need to promise that we still stay the amazing close friends that we are today" you state.

The both nod with big smiles. "So I'm already calling it, I'm taking you out first" Ethan smirked while Grayson gasped. "Fine" it was Grayson's turn to huff and puff.

"Kids, come back inside we're gonna have family games" Sean called from inside the house. "Coming!" The three of you guys yelled back.

Thankfully the rest of the night went on like nothing ever happened. To be honest, you were excited to go on a date with both of them. They were attractive personality wise and looks wise (obviously). The only thing you feared was losing one of them or both.

You said your goodbyes to the Dolan family and Ethan pulled you in for a hug whispering, "I'll text you tonight." You nodded with a smile and waved them off.

When you got home you received a text from Ethan.

"Can I take you out tomorrow at 7:30 for dinner?" You smiled to yourself and replied with a "yes :)".

"Sweet :), goodnight (Y/N) sleep well" He messaged. "You too" you send back, and with that you went off to sleep.

You awoke the next morning feeling immense happiness. You were going out with Ethan today. You were freaking out but little did you know, so was Ethan.

Ethan was currently at home practicing in front of a mirror what he was going to say to you, the jokes he was gonna make and the different compliments he was gonna give you.

Sure he has hung out with you before this was a whole new setting. This was just the two of you and it wasn't just a hang out, it was a date.

It's the exact way you felt.

The whole time leading up to the hour he would pick you up you contemplated different outfits, makeup looks and hair styles.

You finally decided that you would wear a sweater along with some jeans and some thigh high boots, perfect for the fall weather.

You curled your hair and made sure your makeup was natural but still killin the game.

It was 7:08 p.m and you get a call from Ethan.

"Hey Ethan" you couldn't contain the smile on your face.

"Hey (Y/N), I'm about to leave my place so I'll be there soon" his voice was giddy and evident with excitement.

"Okay I'll be waiting, Bye Ethan, drive safe."
"Bye (Y/N), I'll see you soon."

You hung up the phone and did a little happy dance. You were excited and nervous just flowing with emotions.

Within 5 minutes there was a knock at the door. "(Y/N)!! Ethan is here" your mom yelled from downstairs. "Coming!" You yelled back. You sprayed yourself with perfume before grabbing your bag and heading downstairs.

You come downstairs to see Ethan standing by your parents holding a bouquet of your favorite flowers, sunflowers.

Your mouth drops open and you head over to him. He turns and sees you and now it's his turn to have his jaw drop.

"You look stunning" Ethan complimented. "Not as stunning as these flowers" you smile taking the flowers and planting a kiss on his cheek.

He prepared himself for many things but not a kiss on the cheek. He was now redder than a cherry tomato.

You put the flowers in a vase filled with water and then said goodbye to your parents. Ethan waved your parents goodbye and headed to his car with you.

Let the first date begin.
