summary : in which you find out your side man of a month is your boyfriend's new friend.

It was a mess it really was.

This huge mess that you got yourself into, you'd dug so deep that you were stuck and there was no way out.

*two months ago*

It shouldn't have happened the way it did but it did.

You were accompanying your boyfriend of a year and a half, to an award show where he and his brother would be winning favorite YouTuber/ Duo.

"Babe don't be nervous," you stood on the side trying to rub his back supportingly.

"What if I mess up on my speech? What if they cut me off?" He payed no mind to you, as he paced around the dressing room.

Ethan had gone outside to get a bottle water and it was just you and Grayson in the small room.

"You know what I'm gonna go get you a water bottle okay?" You said before rushing out to find some water to calm him down.

Blindly running around the backstage you didn't notice a tall guy had stepped in your way.

You bumped shoulders & next thing you know your face was about to meet the floor till someone caught you.

Opening your eyes you had to hold yourself back from squealing.

You were eye to eye with THE Shawn Mendes.

Being a big fan since his magcon days you felt your inner fangirl break free.

You quickly stood up and swallowed the lump in your throat.

"Thank you," you managed to get out.

"Of course," He smiled warmly at you making your knees buckle.

"We're you looking for something? Maybe I can help you find it?" He suggested noticing how you were looking around frantically when you two bumped into one another.

"Oh yea I was just looking for a water bottle for my boyfriend, he's kinda freaking out," you looked around still not finding any stands or tables with water.

"Oh here, I have a lot in my dressing room, you can just take a few from there, cmon it's this way," he started you leading you down the hall.

You followed behind studying his body proportions.

He was much taller than you and his back was very beautiful to stare at.

"Here we are," he spoke enthusiastically opening the door to his dressing room.,

You caught sight of all the snacks and water bottles on the table against the wall.

Sighing in relief you walked in and grabbed two water bottles, one for Grayson and one for you. When you were about to exit your eyes scanned the rest of the table.

Gasping with joy you saw Swedish fish and laffy taffy, your two favorite candies in a dish.

"Do you like them?" He was amused at your adorable reaction.

Without saying words you nodded quickly.

"Here take some," he tried to hand you a hand full but your hands were occupied with the water bottles.

"You know what I'll walk you back to your dressing room since you can't hold all of it, let's switch, I'll take waters you take candy," he extended his hands.

Taking his kind offer you plopped the waters in his hand taking some candy in a plastic cup.

As he walked you back to the dressing room you couldn't help but feel that quickening of your heartbeat.

The thing was the more you tried to stop it the faster it'd go.

Your train of thought was interrupted when you arrived at your dressing room. You had finished your cup of candy and he handed you the water bottles.

"Thanks Shawn, you're a life saver," you smiled about to walk back in when he stopped you.

"Wait I didn't get your name."

"(Y/N)."

*back to present*

Ever since that day you and Shawn exchanged numbers and soon things went from friendly to too friendly.

He became your side man, knowing well of your relationship but not of who it was with.

"Babe I have a surprise for you," Grayson kissed you from behind.

"What is it?" You giggled turning around and hugging him tightly, looking up into his beautiful brown eyes.

"Can't tell you then it wouldn't be a surprise," he laughed playfully pushing you.

"I can still act surprised," you said showing him your various surprised faces making him burst into laughter.

"Just stop, go get ready, dress nice and we'll go," he smiled walking away.

You sighed happily rolling your eyes before going to your room to get ready.

After about two hours Grayson came to check on you to see you finishing up grabbing your bag.

"I'm ready to go," you smiled excited for the surprise.

"Come on let's go," he grabbed your hand and before you knew it you two were in his car off to god knows where.

Buildings passed as the radio played and Grayson occasionally smiled while glancing at you.

Suddenly you saw crowds appear, looking outside you noticed something almost at once.

Many of them were wearing Shawn mendes shirts.

"What the-" then the staples center came into view.

Shawn said he was having a concert tonight.

"You didn't," you gasped which Grayson took as a good sign.

"Well I know you've always been a fan of Shawn mendes and we recently became friends so he hooked me up with some backstage passes and front row tickets," he smiled widely at you with good intentions but little did he know.

Your side man was about to meet your main man.

I've been watching friends all day and it feels great :D

I'm feeling great, and happy how about all of you.

Also I'm very late on talking about this but concerning Ethan's motorcycle accident not too long ago I'm so glad that he's safe and only had some scratches and bruises.

I thank god that he's okay and doing better 🙏🏽💝💝
