CH 7 - Making plans

"A stranger did what???" Ming yells standing.

I shush him and make him sit, before running to my bedroom door. Opening it, I look both ways down the hall, sighing in relief when I don't see anyone.

I lock my door again, and go sit at the small table and eat a cookie, I need to calm down. Just thinking about it makes me remember... I tell him about the kiss.

"He stuck what in your mouth?" He yells again. "I haven't even kissed P'Kit yet!"

I shush him and tell him what he did after.

"He stole what?" He yells again.

I glare at him, why do I bother telling him things...?

"Tell me you at least kicked, punched or ran him through with a sword?" He asks still in shock.

"No..." I say quietly.

"Yo." He moves closer. "Did you...maybe...like it?"

My face heats up, the scene flashes through my mind. His warm scent, his gentle fingers, and the soft lips as they touched mine.

"Oh my god!" His mouth hanging open. "You liked it."

"Ming..." I don't know how to say this. "I... I... really want to see him again."

I finished in a whisper but he heard me, he's even more shocked.

"You didn't even see his face Yo, and it was just a kiss." He says soothingly.

"I can't help it, Ming." I tell him. "I don't understand, but I want to see him."

"Love at first kiss." He whispers. "No way."

"Can that happen?" I ask.

"I fell in love with P'Kit the first time I saw him." He says thinking. "I only waited 3 weeks to announce my intentions, because father said I needed to grow up first."

"How do I find him again Ming?"

"I'm not sure, we may have to consult a powerful magical being." He starts thinking. "They usually have ways or objects to help."

"What if he doesn't even remember me... or has someone else..." Fears start creeping in.

"He kissed you first! Not an ordinary kiss, an adult kiss." He stands, fuming. "He has to take responsibility, or I will challenge him to a duel!"

Just thinking of Ming and the stranger fighting makes my heart ache, I don't want either hurt. I understand these feelings for Ming, but why the stranger? And only after one meeting?

"Don't cry Yo." He says quickly. "We'll find him okay."

I move my hand towards my cheek, its wet, I really cried. What was happening to me?

When I can't sleep and head downstairs, I peek into my father's study when I see the light still on.

"Something wrong Wayo?" He smiles looking towards the door.

"You're working late father." I say walking in and taking a seat near him.

"Just a few things to finish, Beam and I need to go check on the arriving ships tomorrow."

"How long will you be gone?" I ask sadly.

"Just 2 weeks, I would take you with us, but it's a working trip, no time for fun." He smiles.

"It's okay, I'll go next time." I smile. "Father..."
