CH 76 - The rescue...

Sing POV

My blood runs cold, they took New. I run for the river, everyone from the square close behind. The second we reach the water I start casting spells, five of them and they used magic. He's going to be fine, he's tougher than before and he has magic now. He will be okay and I will bring him home.

"Why take my Rome? He was a little duck and Duckie had a red ribbon, who kidnaps someone with a red ribbon!" Bright shouts next to me. "How do we get them back?"

I knew water spells but going into the underwater city required a lot of magic, mine would barely last an hour. Yo calls his staff and casts a spell, I explain when the witches appear.

"The underwater part may be a little difficult." Bee looks concerned.

"The mirror may have an idea." Nate looks his way.

"I need to take a look in the book..." The mirror thinks.

"I'll get you a dozen bunnies if you can find a way." I tell him.

"I have Spark, I don't need anyone else."

Spark looks at the mirror and smiles, he's still drinking his pink milk.

"I could call the squid." Gramps explains. "He will eat them all."

"No need." Yo look at me seriously. "I know a way."

"You do?" we all ask together.

"Do you remember..." he says looking at Ming.

"Yes, it will work." Ming nods.

"I class this as an..."

"Emergency... oh yeh." Ming finishes.

"Remember where?"

"On it Yo." Ming says and runs off.

"Did they finish one sentence?" Din asks.

"It's Ming and Yo." Kit explains.

"They always know what the others saying." In nods.

"I don't know how you don't get jealous kitty." Beam adds.

It doesn't take Ming long to return, he's holding a shell that fits in the palm of his hand, with one side shaped like a cone. Yo takes it and walks into the water, he takes a deep breath and submerges his head but I hear the horn. It's a different sound than the one Gramps used to marry us, this is more like.... A sirens song?

How did Yo have something like that? Sirens are dangerous, they didn't like land dwellers and often cursed them if seen by one. I had only heard of one case in a story where a siren had given a shell to someone and that was because they had tricked them into it.

Nate dries him when he gets out of the water, Pha quickly pulling him close and rubbing his arms when he sees Yo shiver. I want New, I want to hold him and know he's safe. The image of the first time I saw him makes my heart race, bruised and bleeding.

"We're going to bring him home." I snap out of my thoughts when Yo grabs my arm.

"Rome..."

Yo tells Bright the same. I watch Yo's eyes shimmer as he lets the barriers adjust, he's letting someone through. That's also worrying.

"How did they get past your barriers?" I ask.

"Someone let them through." He looks worried.

"But Yo, even we can't adjust your barrier." Nate says looking at Bee. "So how..."
