CH 88 - The fight

Outside Ravensworth

The witch sent another spell hurling towards the barrier, it hit like a hammer weakening it more. Nearly there just a few more hits and it would be down. Putting that boy to sleep was a good way to distract the forest. While it tried to save him, she would get in.

All the pieces were in place. She had taken his son and could use the babies whenever she wanted. She had set traps for his friends, the would get in but no one was getting out of the valley. And once she managed to catch a few of them she would drain the magic, even asleep he would feel it.

She had waited so long but soon; all that power of the forest would be hers and she could be young forever.

Main house.

Phana held Yo's hand praying he would wake soon as the others talked around him. He wanted to go look for Bas, he was so worried about the baby, but they didn't even know where to start looking. Beam and Ming paced the room as Forth and Kit talked to Gramps and Granny Tanner.

The others had gone into the village to get things ready, the witch would come and Yo needed to wake up. Phana kissed his husbands' hand, wake up soon baby we need you.

Poppy hurried in with the children still a little shaken. Mai had come back to help her son; this place was always great but she never knew it was this amazing. Beam and Ming rushed to take the babies hugging them close.

She went straight to Yo as Pha stood quickly seeing Bas. He would wake Yo, she had been thinking how the baby would manage that all the way home. Her question answered itself when Bas begun to cry. He wouldn't stop, Phana took him he still didn't stop and then it happened, hearing his cries Yo stirred. The baby's crying had a strange echo to it, hurting your heart to hear him, magic just like Yo.

He did what the witches and everyone couldn't do, he woke Yo. Pha hugged his husband as he sat up looking around dazed but took the baby and rocked him until he stopped crying. The magic pulsed around them all as the forest began to stir. The mirror squeezed Spark as he yawned and kicked waking up.

Poppy hugged Yo and whispered the important message. Yo listened to his mother understanding what she meant and trying to decide what else he could do. A loud shattering rang in the air as the barrier was hit one last time and disappeared.

"It's broken." Yo said looking towards the forest. "Is everything ready?"

"Yes." Granny Tanner told him. "You need to stop her, we won't get another chance."

Yo nodded as his eye pulsed with magic. The forest had taught him a few powerful spells he hoped they would be enough. She was older and more experienced, but he had his family and friends to protect he wouldn't let her hurt any of them.

Village Square.

Everyone was gathered in the village hall, Monty had magicked a wall away so they could see what was happening. The mayor wasn't pleased.

"The village square really does see a lot of action." Monty told the others.

"Why am I behind the shield?" Duckies glared. "I should be helping Yo."

"Is that her?" In asked when a woman walked into the square carrying a staff. "She's kind of good looking."

Everyone glared at him.
