CH 28 - Move the BALL...

Phana POV

I hurry out of the study leaving the townhouse, my anger still rising. Foolish decision? She had no right to lecture me on my choices, I wanted to marry Yo and I would. She was my mother and I respected her, but the time for her words to change what I wanted was long gone.

I wish father was home already. I jumped into the carriage telling the driver to head for home, but it was lonely there now. It was too big and cold, hardly anyone around and the company that showed up I didn't want anymore.

I missed Yo! Was he okay? Did he eat? He looked near tears when we left and he didn't touch his food the night before or that morning. His father was right we had lied, it was a bitter thing to admit, but he was.

Go home and really think, what your decision to be with my sons will cost you. Then decide if you can do what's needed. Prince or not, be ready to tell my sons the truth or I will make you sorry you crossed me.

It barely took the journey back for me to know, I belonged with Yo. He would hate this place, he loved that village and now he was the forest witch, Yo belonged in Ravens worth. I was a prince, yes, but I had mostly always helped father with his duties, never really settled down to anything.

Yo didn't care if I was a baker, I hope he didn't care I was a prince. We never got a chance to tell them, it had to wait until they came to the capital for the ball. I had sent a message to P'Sing about a position in the village, he said they needed a guard and I was well trained. That place was full of trouble, I would be busy and Yo could be the forest witch. The people I really cared about could come and visit me.

"Highness." Pin, the butler spoke the minute I entered. "This arrived for you."

He handed me a message, I opened it to see P'Sing's reply, that was fast.

Application accepted.

"Is my father home?" I asked, smiling.

That was one thing solved, now to tell Yo, have him not hate me and bury me in the woods, and it would be well.

"No highness."

"Is P'Kong back?"

"No highness."

I thanked Pin and headed out, he was shocked to learn I had manners. But after seeing what P'Lee was capable off, it was smarter to be nice to the butlers and I always did like old Pin. I called for the footman and headed out again, giving the driver instructions to head to the main palace as I jumped into the carriage.

Main Royal Palace.

"Why the hell is your ball still 4 days away?" I yelled at Forth, entering his office.

"Nothing I can do about it." He yelled back.

"I miss Yo." I shout. "Arrange things better."

"Don't make me murder you Phana." Forth snaps. "I miss Beam too. At least Yo came to see you, Beam wouldn't even talk to me."

"Why the hell is Lam not answering my messages?"

"Oh shit." Forth called someone. "I forgot to tell him your curse was lifted, he's still looking for a cure."

I glared at Forth as he asked for the message to be sent and fell into a chair, looking around the room.

"Did you change your office?" I ask.
