CH 72 - Allow me

In POV

I look out of the window again, sighing in relief when I finally see the angels and New. I take off the apron and hurry for the door, nearly choking to death when I'm pulled back by my collar.

"Where do you think you're going?" Mother snaps. "Get back to kneading the dough."

"I need... *cough* ... talk to the guys."

"You need to work."

"It's important...it's about Simi."

She had run off early with Duckie, they were going to Yo's to see the kitten, visit P'Ahn and the egg and then go play with the hellhound. She is fitting in just fine, making friends and getting used to the village and villagers, but when I took her to meet Yo and the family I had a feeling something was wrong. Simi is adorable but she doesn't speak, Yo found that interesting.

Mother immediately let's go. "Why didn't you say so, fine get out."

She throws me out of the bakery, I stand, brush flour and dust off my top as I hurry over. Lots been happening in the village again, they will know the gossip and I wanted to talk to Yo. I see P'Arthit and Rome hurry to the angels, Yut and Din joining them.

"You know my dad never gets angry." Rome looks worried. "He yelled at his brother, my mother flying kicked him and knocked him out."

"I didn't feel anything." Yut looks frustrated. "I just had a strange urge to argue with Din, we never argue."

"When Yo came with the roses." Din tries to explain. "It was like..."

"You're anger just faded away." New finishes.

Everyone agrees.

"Where is Yo?" I ask.

"Kong took him to check an area he found strange yesterday." P'Arthit answers.

"Anything P?" New asks P'Sing when he, Phana and Lam join us.

"My wards are in place and the barrier are up." He looks annoyed.

"I'm going to beat up whoever's doing this." Pha snaps. "My Yo hasn't rested for 2 days."

"My wards and barriers are in place and unaffected." P'Bee growls appearing near with Nate.

"So are mine." Nate adds. "When I find out who it is, I'm turning someone into a toad!"

"We checked the North paths." Ming says coming with Kit. "A group was there recently, but they haven't come into the village."

"Same on the South." Forth says coming with Beam, looking frustrated. "A groups been there in the last day."

"What could get past a wizard, witches and especially forest witch barriers?" I ask.

"What indeed?"

"Aaahhhhh." We all yell together when Gramps appears out of nowhere.

"Gramps stops scaring people..." Bright shouts, he stops and smiles. "Hey, Rome."

"I have to go..." Rome tries to leave.

"Rome talk to me."

But Rome changes into a duck and tries to run away only to be caught and picked up by Bright.

"That isn't going to stop me." Bright kisses his head three times. "Yes I know what I did and I mean it."

"Unhand my son." P'Peach shouts.
