A/N: This is going to be somewhat similar to Version 1 of this one-shot. The flashback/backstory of your powers will be the same, so I won't put it in here.
Hope you enjoy!~~~~~~~~~
"Ladies and gentlemen, I am the next greatest magician and I will give $100 to anyone who can tell me how this trick is done." a man announced as he walked up the stairs to the top level on the ferry.
I glanced up from reading on my phone, and saw a handsome man of about 20-22 with brown hair and brown eyes. He held out a spoon for all to see. I recognized him as Jack Wilder, thief and street magician extraordinaire.
"I have an ordinary spoon from Mel's Deli right here in Brooklyn." he continued, tapping it on the stair rail. "Check it out. Now everyone, pay very close attention, 'cause I'm about to bend this spoon with my mind."
He held out the spoon and put his free hand up to it, slowly moving it down and "bending" the spoon with his mind. I almost laughed. A real magician needed to show him how bending spoons was done. Once he had finished bending the spoon, I went up to him, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
"You've got a spoon and spoon stem hiding in your back pocket right now." I deadpanned.
Jack's face looked surprised and partly annoyed, but he quickly covered it up with a nonchalant expression.
"What makes you say that?" he wondered.
"'Cause I'm a smart person and I've done magic like yours." I answered simply. The crowd around us snickered. I held out my hand to Jack.
"Spoons, please. And I'll need the stem as well."
Sighing, Jack gave me the two spoons and the stem. I turned to the crowd around us.
"Anyone here ready to see a real magic trick?" I yelled out. The people murmured in agreement.
I held the unbent spoon out on the palm of my hand and used my mind to slowly bend it into a pretzel shape. The people clapped appreciatively. I even heard one person say, "That's impressive!"
Jack scoffed, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw him try to escape and go down the stairs, but I grabbed the collar of his jacket and pulled him back.
"Jeez, talk about being rough." Jack snapped, rubbing his neck.
I only laughed. "You haven't even seen the best part! Wait and see."
I took all three pieces of warped metal and put them in my right hand. Then, I closed my left hand on top of it. When I brought my left hand away, the metal was all mashed together into a ball, but you couldn't see any creases/cracks from merging the metal. Gasps and claps and whispers and murmurs were heard as I shaped the ball into a mace head and continued to shape it. Eventually, I shaped it into an armband and slipped it onto my arm, a few inches under my shoulder.
"Brava! Brava!" I heard.
"Impressive! That's what I call real magic!" another said.
I smiled and waved to the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you!"
"I've got other tricks!" Jack tried feebly. But no one would hear of it.
"Awww, we've had enough of your terrible--and so-called--magic tricks!" a guy shouted.
"BOOOO!" somebody else added.
I turned to Jack, but before I could do anything, he blurted out, "Can I have your number?"
He immediately turned red and looked down at his feet. I smiled and walked down the stairs.
"How do you know you don't have it already?" I asked him, then disappeared.
The last I saw of him, he was frantically searching through his pockets.
Wooo! Another chapter uploaded and finished! Hope you guys enjoyed reading both versions of this one-shot! In my opinion, I like this version better than the first version, but I probably could've made so many changes to it. I could also make a mashup of both of the one-shots, but I honestly don't know.
Comment if:
a) You think I should make another version of this one-shot (it would be a mashup, or somewhat like one anyway, of the two versions)
b) You want to tell me which version you liked better
