I'll see you later

echoed in my mind as I thought of the night class boy. The medium length dark brown hair had formed perfectly around his face with the top part a little spicky*. His blue eyes had been dark pools that drew me in, and his skin was like a polished pearl. Kaito had towered over me by a few inches, and I was not that short. I was close to 5'11''.

He's as tall as my adopted father, I realised. That thought reminded me of something important I was supose to do. Oh crud, I thought, Mom's going to freak. The fact was I hadn't written to her and the second week of school was tomorrow.

I hoped off the medical bed, it had only been a few minutes since Kaito had left me in the silence to think, and began to walk down the hallway leisurely. Pushing the doors to the outside, I walked across the courtyard to the path that would take me to the day class dorms. Breathing in the fresh air and exhaling, the air had a frost to it. Leaves were already begining to turn orange and yellow, decorating the dim courtyard. Winter's coming early, I thought. I disliked the cold. Sure the snow is pretty, but after the third week in and being bombarded by snowstorms, you get sick of it. Especially towards the begining of spring where it turns to slush.

Arriving at the dorm, I took the first flight of stairs. The dorm was unusually quiet. There was always some people who decided to hang out at the dorm instead of going to the village. It was virtually empty. Unlocking the door, I walked into Sam's and my room. It was empty too. I didn't think Sam and Risa would be so ready to leave the school grounds after that expierience with the monster......or vampire.

First thing's first. Before I would go out to find my best friends, I would get the shower and change of clothes I desperately needed.

"You didn't erase their memories!!???" Zero shouted at the top of his voice.

"I erased two of the three's memories, actually" Kaito responded sourly.

"Which one did you not erase!?" Zero said in a loud speaking voice, some of the creases in his forehead disappeared.

"The one with long, light brown hair and baby blue eyes" Kaito said in a normal tone with a slight pause at the end then."Why?" he asked curiously.

"Emma!! You didn't erase Emma's memory!!!" Zero yell/ screamed again, his voice somehow a little more fierce this time.

"Listen..." but Kaito was cut off.

"Now boys don't you fight" the headmaster said in his happy, gay tone with a great big smile on his face.

Both Zero and Kaito turned toward the headmaster in a glare that made their point.

"Fine!" huffed the headmaster. he leaned back into his chair and listened to the two argue.

Kaito, after making sure Emma was okay, came straight to the office by instructions sent to him mentally by one of the night students. He had explained the whole situation about why he had been about the town when he should have been at the academy. "I just needed to get away, you know how the others treat me." Kaien repeated in his head. It was true though. The other night class students tended to avoid Kaito. He wasn't like a sophisicated, aritocraut like all the others; he was a kind person that acted like a proper gentleman.....most of the time.

The other reason why they avoided him was because of his special talent. His ability to charm people with his power made others warry of him. He could bend a person's mind to think that he was the best friend they'd ever had and other such things like that. To sum it up, he could implant false memories in peoples' minds for a certain length of time. This always back-fired though. Once the person realised they had been entranced, they tended to hate him. But Kaito wasn't a bad person. He only used his power to lighten up a situation. That was the reason why Zero disliked Kaito----he had used his power on him.
