Emma
After I had finished up the rest of my classes, I had retired to Moon Dorm. The information about my parents and siblings had been swimming through my head and had made it hard to fall asleep. A hour and a half later, I had managed to drift softly off.
Waking up for my next school day was not pleasant. I had gotten out of habit of waking up this early. Not to mention my switch from human to vampire had meant I had to switch my awake hours. My sleeping pattern was completely messed up. Yesterday had been a miracle for me to get out of bed on time.
Slowly I crawled out of bed, disliking the evening cold in my room instantly. I changed into my Night class uniform and ran the brush through my hair lazily. When that was done I slipped on my shoes and left my room.
"I was wondering if you were still alive." Toran remarked sarcastically.
He had been waiting just outside the door for me.
"Shut up." I said back to him, still trying to wake up.
"Okay. Then I won't tell you that Kaito's back." he replied.
"Kaito's back?" I echoed."Where is he?"
"Hiding somewhere on campus........along with my brother." Toran said.
"How did....?" I began to asked, but he cut me off.
"The nose knows." He responded, pointing to his nose."I can smell their blood."
"Their not injured, are they?" I replied worriedly, wondering what they had been up to, to get hurt.
Toran errupted in laughter."No, silly!" he said between laughs.
Just another thing I hadn't learned yet. It had only been a couple of weeks ago that I had learned my true nature. Thinking back made it hard to think that so much had happened in such a short time in my life. I sighed. And there was so much more yet to come, I thought tiredly to myself.
Toran walked beside me to the first floor. There, everyone was already gathered, waiting for the school day to start already. Everyone except Kaito and Kogeta. I noticed that Kaname Kuran had returned and he caught my stare. I was sure he knew something about Kaito, but he wasn't going to tell me a single thing. Kaname hadn't been as friendly to me as Yuuki had when everyone had celebrated me becoming a vampire. Thinking about Yuuki, maybe he had told her something. I would have to question her later. For now though, I had to survive getting through the crazed fan girls.

As all of the Night class students walked passed the crowds of girls screaming and cheering for them, I kept my eyes looking out for Zero. However, he was nowhere to be seen. During my time as a human student, he had never missed a single day of guarding the humans when the gates opened. Sure, he might have been late sometimes, but he had never completely skipped out. That made me worry that something had happened to him.
And that I would never know, not with Kaito gone and uptight Kaname Kuran, I would never get any information from them. My only choice was to ask the headmaster and get some answers out of Yuuki. They had to know something about how Zero's trial.
Then it hit me, Zero's trial should have been yesterday, yet he hadn't gone. If he had, then he wouldn't have showed up to yesterday's Night class crossing. Unless, they meant days in human time. In that case, Zero would be back by now. Something fishy was going on around here and I didn't like being kept out of the ring of people in the know.
I had been so consumed in my thoughts that I hadn't realized we had made it to the main building already. Toran had gone in front of me to hold the door open before it could close on me.
