"Garcon!" the old man's voice rang from the front of the car.

His arm extended out the driver's window and his hand just barely out the sun roof. With a flick of a wrist he sent something rectangular and silver spinning out the limo's sun roof. A figure, one I couldn't recognize because I was frightened out of my mind, grabbed the small square and thumbed the side of it. The top part of it flicked open and a rough voice, brave but still scared, shouted:

"This might hurt!" his voice yelled.

I had no idea if he meant it would hurt me or him or what he was doing with the little square box that would save me. I welcomed the help anyways regardless of who it was and I didn't care about the pain. It seemed that since I had suffered so much, a little more wouldn't make a difference. The cold had somewhat numbed my arm as did the vine which had finally succeeded in cutting off my blood flow was also helping me from feeling anything at all at this point.

There was the sound of 'flift' as a little flame egnited out of what I my some-what together mind called a lighter. Then a whole series of events happened.

One, the plant froze in it's tracks at the sound.

Two, Hana ducked down to the ground out of sight.

Three, a rushing of flames came towards me.

And four, Violet grabbed my head and hair and turned it away and down from the flames covering it with her jacket.

Even with my head and hair wrapped into the jacket protecting my face I could still hear the billowing of flames like a flamethrower was running over my arm. The preassure on the back of my head told me Violet's hands were keeping the jacket from being undone. I instantly worried about her, but then I knew it was her duty to protect me. Even if it meant sacrificing her hands to do so.

The flames continued for what seemed an eternity. I could feel them licking my arm from fingers to shoulder blade. At first I felt nothing at all. Then slowly I felt as if the vines were loosening and dropping from my arm like flies. The heat began to increase from that of a low simmer to an increasing inferno until my skin felt as if it getting scorched. Then, in an instant the flames stopped.

"I got them all off, wait...........it looks as if........" came my savior's voice.

I felt the blood flow beginning to return to my arm as well as my muscle power. Violet began to loosen her grip on the jacket around my head. What worried me though......

"I think the vine left seeds in her arm. They're slightly burned, but not good enough." the voice commented."This is going to have to hurt a little bit more, then I promise..."the voice seemed to break down and loose it's strength."It'll be all over Emma....I promise." It said much stronger.

......was the feeling of something, somethings, no little pins digging into my arm. Another blast of flames hit my arm and this time I could feel the agonizing burn. At the first touch I cried out in pain, but the sound was muffled by the jacket. I hoped it was muffled by the jacket. I didn't want to cause the person who the voice belonged to any more saddness.

The flames stopped.

"There, I got them all." the voice said.

I felt no feeling of pin pricks in my arms any longer. At least I thought so. I could tell by the feeling in my arm that the burns were bad. Bad enough to damage my nervous system. I trusted the voice in its judgement though.

"Is she okay brother?" the voice asked.

"Her mind's been racked around, but yes. She hasn't lost it." another's came.

My mind began to slowly piece together what had happened. A vine grabbed me and tried to wrap me up. A red flower tried to eat me. Someone who could control fire saved me. Toran! my voice put together and the other was Kogeta!

"You can unwrap the jacket from her head now Violet." Kogeta commented.

"But, her arm. If she sees." the calm girl said.

"Her arm is bad, but it will heal in a day's time." he said harshly."Now unwrap her head before she sufficates to death." he intructed.

The jacket came off instantly from my head and some of my hair followed it and got in my eyes, ruining my vision. With my good hand, I tried to bring it to my face to wipe the stray strands out of my face. It was only when I was met with resistance that i realized Kogeta still had a hold of it. At my tug he realized this too, and a few seconds later he let go. I brought my hand quickly up to my face and gently pulled the strands out of my face so that I could see.

Kogeta was seated on the left side of the limo on the edge of the seat looking desperately into my eyes. Next I found Violet, more towards the front of the limo but on the right side. My eyes then glanced to my shoulder, where I brushed a few stray strands away. It was mostly red as if baked, purple in some spots that hadn't been hit as hard by the flames, and black as in singed at the spots where the seeds had been. The black spotted my arm all over the place. Other than the abnormal coloring and the fringes of an open wound around the used to be seed places, my arm was intact. I couldn't find it within me to look away from it....

"Her arm...."

....until Kaito's voice sounded behind Toran. Toran, I noticed, was right beside me kneeling on the ground outside the edge of the limo holding my hand gently. I realized I could just barely feel him keeping my arm supported by the lightest of touch. Kaito was beyond him, looming over him trying to get a better view of my mangled arm.

"Kaito I...." Toran began.

"I know you did your best to save her, and I thank you for that." Kaito inturrupted, then began to edge closer to me.

Toran slipped out from under Kaito's looming figure and stood up in the back ground a few feet away. At once I took notice of the dead silence around me. Not a single voice from a companion, not a moan from an injured enemy, not a noise from the woods. The deathly silent night scared me, but Kaito took no notice. He was already taking off his black jacket and throwing it on the ground away from him. Then he proceeded to take off his nice white dress shirt to reveal his bare chest and began tearing the shirt into long strips. The sound of cloth tearing was the only sound in the night now as he ripped strip after strip.

"Let me see your arm." He said deadpan.

I lifted it as best I could, which was only an inch from my side. He worked with that though, gently wrapping it in the strips of white fabric that was his dress shirt. He took the final, longest and widest strip and wrapped the smaller stips up to hold them in place. He tied it up by my shoulder and then removed the access cloth that was hanging in strips at my shoulder so the turtle neck sweater's sleeve on the right side of my arm was completely gone. Kaito gently took my arm and set it on my lap and turned me so that I was in the veichal. He then closed the door soflty and walked deathly quiet around to the other side except for the sound of gravel underneath the soles of his shoes.

He opened the door to his side and muttered: "Everyone get in."

And everyone obeyed all at once. They got in and seated themselves quietly. The old man needed no words to know that he was to drive now and he started the limo and began down the road slowly and quietly now. As if he was afraid of alerting enemies to our presence.
