It was 6:30 already?
I thought as I got up and turned my "Sam" alarm off by playfully throwing my pillow like I always did.
Last night had been fine, I guess. The three vampires in the hallway that I had talked to seemed like the only nice ones around. When I patroled the hallway, most of the Night class students had given me the cold shoulder----and some had eyed me like a fat person eyes a debbie twinkie. I just rushed along past when they did that. I was sure they were trying to toy with me, but you can never be sure. After I was done patroling the outside, I had went to my dorm where I fell asleep instantly.
And now daytime had come and time for explanations to Sam why I was up almost all night.
"Mind telling me where you where all night?" Sam asked as she tossed the pillow lightly back to me.
"Well, Zero kind-of found me in the lobby." I began.
"He did!? What did he do to you?!" she asked in a excited tone.
"He sent me to the headmaster's office" I started again, but Sam opened her mouth as to talk and said a quick sorry."because I had ran away from a perfect who was searching for me."
"What an excuse. He was obviously trying to get you back for when you ran into him accidently. Some people can just keep a grudge forever." Sam sighed."Anyways, what happened then?" she said, eyeing my face to make sure I told the truth.
I thought fast."For my punishment, the headmaster made me a perfect and is subjecting me to patroling the hallways at night." I held my breath as I finished. Would she believe becoming a perfect was a punishment?
"That's cruel. You have a hard enough time getting up already with nine hours of sleep." she commented and started to turn around to leave and then spun back again."Do you have to wear that arm band thingy all day?" she asked pointing to the cloth laying on the end of my bed.
I picked the cloth up and gently pinned it in place on the shoulder of my uniform."Yep" I said plainly with a small sigh.
"Ha" she let out a small laugh.
Then we both went out the door to start our classes.
~"~
Right before Day class started.
"Why? Why did you have to make her!" Zero said in an voice full of pain.
"It was the easy way out Zero. She would have panicked if I had told her that we were going to erase her memories." the headmaster explained calmly.
"Still that's no excuse! We could have.....We should have.....but why her as a perfect?!" Zero ended in a yell.
"Zero, I don't know what you're getting at." the headmaster said in an confused tone with a hint of worry.
"I've seen her in the classes I have with her. Everything about her.......the way she acts......her smile, her charm......even her voice sounds close......" Zero muttered and paused for a long time.
"Like Yuuki?" the headmaster asked in a delicate voice.
"Yes" Zero said in a voice almost like a hiss.
"I'm sorry Zero. I just took the easiest choice. I didn't mean to put you in furthur turmoil." the headmaster said apoligetically."But you're going to have to get over that." he added."Emma might sound like Yuuki, but she doesn't resemble her. Look closely and you'll see I'm telling the truth."
"I'll......I'll try." Zero stuttered out of pain.
"Good boy."
And this time, Zero didn't care that the headmaster had said something to cheer him up. It actually made him feel better.
