Speed walking after my skipping friend Risa, we finally made it to the squirting game. Sam was sitting at the far left on the outside. She was doing her best to focus the squirt gun at the target.
"Risa, hand me another dollar!" Sam commanded without turning around.
"But it's my last..." Risa said sulking and giving a puppy dog face look.
"Risa!"
sob"Fine" and Risa unwillingly gave up her last dollar.
Sam took it and handed it to the game man. The next game started up and this time Sam won. She happily requested the large, pink panda and got off the foot stool and bounded over to Risa and I.
"Glad you enjoyed my dollar" Risa said in a mumur.
"I sure did!" Sam said excitedly.
"I hope someone has money, cause' otherwise we're not having lunch" Risa remarked.
Sam's face froze. She hadn't thought of that.
"Don't worry" i encouraged her."I'll pay" and then I let out a sigh. Was I the only one who thought ahead? Grabbing my purse before heading out had been a smart idea.
~"~
"Thanks for the food!" Sam and Risa shouted in unison.
"You're welcome" I said in weak sarcasm. They hadn't seen the bill.
I ate my chicken fingers in silence while Risa and Sam went rambling on about the festibal on what I had missed. After I finished my meal, I got bored and begain to look around. The old man at the serving bar was talking to what seemed an old friend. Other Cross Academy students were eating too. We had been lucky to get a booth.
As I carelessly looked around, I happened to take a look outside the large window. There was some one pushing his way through the crowd, not carring if he bumped them or not. It was Zero with a scowl on his face. I watched him push a group of academy students aside. Then he spoted me, his scowl became deeper engraved into his face. I was sure if the loud crowd and the glass wasn't in place, I'd hear him growl.
"Time to go" I said in a nervous I better get out of here before he kills me voice.
"I'm not done with my steak yet!!" Risa winned in a teasing voice.
"What's the rush?" Sam asked paciently.
"I think Zero's come to execute me." I said, glancing a look out the window to see how close he was.
"What did you do to him this time?" Sam countered.
"I'm not sure..." my voice trailed off. Maybe I searched for some freshie girls, saw their dead bodies, and threw a rock at a monster to save your life, I said jokingly in my head. That was probably the reason, but why hadn't Sam relised that. It was if she had forgottten all about last night. Like it had never happened. Something was fishy here, but I really didn't feel like asking Zero if he knew anything was up. Not unless I had a death wish.
"Zero's gettin' pretty close" Risa commented to herself out loud." I think we should leave, I don't now about you two, but I don't feel like dying today." she teased.
"Yeah, someone would of have to shoved bees down his pants or something, because he looks seriously desturbing." Sam glanced in the dirrection Risa was looking.
We all stood up simutamiously to leave, shooting out the resturant door.
"Where do we go?" Sam shouted above the noise of the festival.
"Anywhere but here" I spoke quickly looking around. "This way" I pointed to the ally across the street. "We'll go through there and work our way back to the bus stop. There should be a bus there right? We just have to hope that after we get on, he doesn't follow."
