I walked around indoors. With most of the night class gone to battle, it was very quiet. There were only a few vampires here and there in the academy. The headmaster and Yagari decided to leave the vampires to rescue Emma. They were sitting in the office, waiting for news. I began to think about if I should be there. It was true Emma had not picked me....but still, she had been a kind person to me. I looked off towards the way the vampires had disappeared. If I was lucky, I could still catch up with them to help.

Kaito would most likely refuse my help though. I gave a grin at that. Anything that got on his nerves was entertaining to me. I had no quarrel with Jarred. He would probably appreciate the helping hand. But Kaname Kuran, he would try to make my day a living hell. Or night. Either way he still would try to get in my head.

I tried to turn away from the dirrection that Emma would be, but just the thought of seeing her kidnappers torture her made me turn back. Maybe I could do something to help....

I led my group through the forest a few feet from the edge of it so that the vampire hunters wouldn't spot us. When I found the entrance to the garden that my mother had cherished as much as my sisters and I, I took my group into it. We hid behind the hedges and quickly made our way to the old glass doors. Once we were all along the back side of the house on either side of the doors, I signaled Kara to go in and use her ability. After she was done, I'd let the others go in.

I was standing near the front door, my shotgun in hand and ready for the blood suckers to enter. All of the sudden I heard a soft noise. It sounded like singing. I motioned to the others I would check it out. As I got closer, the singing got louder. When I turned the corner to the hallway that led to the glass doors to the back, there was a girl standing there humming a tune. But not an ordinary girl, a vampire. I raised my gun quickly to shoot, but the sound seemed to swarm around me. The haunting tune entrancing me so that I couldn't move an inch. A bead of sweat went down my face.

"He's taking quiet some time." I said to the hunter beside me.

"Yeah. And if you listen the singing has stopped." he commented.

We turned to each other and knew that the vampires had come. Both of us raced down the hallway after the first hunter's path to get to him before the vamps did. The others stayed in front just in case of a frontal attack.

I turned the corner with the other hunter beside me and we saw our pal standing with his gun frozen half-way up like he was trying to raise it. The vampire, I guessed it was, was no where in sight. It was then I realized we did the stupidiest thing ever. We had turned our backs to the glass doors.

My partner whipped around and I also did a few seconds after him. Before I could turn all the way around, the other hunter cried out in pain. When I finished turning there was a girl vampire with bleach blonde hair and dull grey eyes. Her hand shot to my neck, but she didn't squeeze. Just the touch of her hand sent a rippling shock wave go through my body. She left her hand there for a few seconds until I felt my self go numb. My body fell to the floor in the same position it had been when I had whipped around. The only thing I could do was move my eyes.

Another girl vampire appeared, the one that must have been singing earlier. They didn't make a sound, but it seemed as if they understood each other without use of words. My eyes flickered to a shape on the ceiling. It was another vampire, this time a male. He was using his fingernails to quietly scale it and went on ahead of the others. Three more followed in from behind the first two vampire girls and they followed after the vamp on the ceiling slowly.
