Emma
"I'd like to begin by pointing out the whole ball room is surrounding by my men." Annie said at the balcony.
And she was right. Men stood guard at the broken windows, at the doors, and outside the ballroom. No one was going to escape easily without either being shot down or crushed to death by vampiric strength.
"My demands are simple. Hand over Kaito and the girl." Annie said.
"Why? What do you want with them?" Korrina spoke up, sounding furiously.
"Kaito and I have previous engagements and the girl, well, I haven't really thought of what I'll do with her." she smirked.
"I accept." I said loud enough so that everyone could hear.
Kaito looked at me confused."What are you.....?"
"Very well." Annie mused and waved us up.
The crowd began to part as we made our way slowly up to the platform. Annie had no clue how powerful my powers were when I was up close to my target. Once I was near her it was the end of the line.
"Annie. I don't think that's a good idea. The girl is plotting something against you." the young man beside her said.
"Ohh, is that so Koien. What exactly is she planning?" she asked, sounding a bit sarcastically and cruel.
"You know I can only sense the emotions of others." Koien pointed out sheepishly.
"In that case," Annie said and nodded to some of her men." Excort Kaito up here, but keep that girl at a distance."
Annie's men closed in around us and two took Kaito up the left stairs. I was left with four men guarding me on the dance floor down below. At the top of the stairs Annie bound Kaito's hands and had him stand at the back of the balcony. From this point I knew I wouldn't be able to defeat her by myself. I began to look around for my noble vampire friends. Where had they gone when I needed them?
I spotted them out of the corner of my eye. They were still by the table I had left them at. None of them were moving, a few had their eyes open in horror. I spotted Kogeta and made eye contact with him.
What's going on with you guys? I thought to him.
But he didn't respond.
What's going.....? I began to ask him, but he cut me off.
We can't use our powers. It must of been something in the drink that the guy Koien brought us. Kogeta mouthed the words to me.
My eyes found the empty champeign bottle on the table, tipped over. Oh, great. Now I was stuck seperated from Kaito, with no one to back me up with their powers. As if sensing my despair, Annie ordered one of her men to bring me up to her. I was poked in the back with a gun while my hands had been bound as I had talked with Kogeta.
They led me over to the steps on the right and causiously escorted me to the top. Making sure I wasn't fumbling with the small chain they had wrapped several times around my hand. The chains must have been made especially for vampires because my wrist couldn't move an inch. I let them led me up the stairs. In order for me to win against this woman, I would have to make on the second desicions or else Koien would alert his mistress.
Koien eyed me strangely as I passed him. I was using my old trick I had done with Kogeta----repeating 'Mary had a Little Lamb' in my head. He was probably getting mized feelings about how I was feeling now. The men that held me hostage brough me over to Annie. She eyed me with hatred as the men made me stop at her side and then they backed off and stood in the background.
