Rose~n~Vampire: Chapter 21

I woke up in the plain white bed when the sun began to peek through the blinds. I sat up and rubbed my eyes. Then I saw Kaito in a chair that was beside the bed I was on. He was fast asleep, it didn't look like he would wake up anytime soon. My shoulders felt stiff so I looked at them to make sure the bandage hadn't come off in the night. I was surpirsed to find no bandage and the fact that they were perfectly healed up except for the stiffness.

Kaito must of healed them while I was asleep. It was a miracle that he had healed my shoulders in one night. No wonder he was so tired. The sun flashed in my eyes again and I got off the bed to close the blinds a bit more. When only a little light was being filtered into the room I decided that the blinds were fine and I walked to the end of the bed and sat down. A lot of things had happened to me so far. I fell backwards on the bed so that I was laying down and my head was close to the edge.

From my first day at cross academy. The level E that had attacked the freshman girl. Meeting Kaito. Becoming a perfect. The festival. Risa's ice cream face.

I gave a small laugh at the last part and then went back to the sweet memories. I had closed my eyes to take in the silence.

The time Toran, Arashi, and Zero had lost control. Meeting Ren, good or bad. The fight. Ren's story. Kaito's story. Me telling my part. The date I went on with Zero. The level E girl. And my strange dreams.

I wondered why the level E girl had listened to me. I thought level Es were suppose to have no emotion and only respond to their lust for blood. That had been really strange.

"Hey." I heard a voice say.

My eyes snapped open to see Zero upside down. I quickly sat up and turned around.

"You okay?" He asked puzzled.

"Yeah. Never better." I said.

He raised his eyebrows at me questionly.

"Okay, then. I'm a little sore." I said reluctantly.

I got off the bed and looked to see how Kaito was. He was still sound asleep. I spun around to face Zero. He looked a little glum and hard faced. The way he had been when I first met him.

"Zero, is something wrong?" I asked causiously.

"It's nothing." He said and faced away from me."Here's your daggers." he added.

He handed over my daggers, being careful not to touch the blades. I took them from him and held on to them.

"Well. I guess that's it." he said.

Zero walked out of the room and almost immediately it was like the ice cold tension disappeared. I wondered if Kaito had anything to do with making the room feel cold. Zero and him didn't seem to get along very well. Especially after the fight.

"You are truely are alright?" I heard a hone toned voice say in my ear.

I felt arms go around my waist to hold me closer to him. Kaito must of pretended to sleep because he knew Zero was near. And now that he was gone he was going to take advantage of the moment.

"Yes." I said weakly.

His presence this close to me was making me light headed. I breathed slow even breathes to keep myself from passing out on him. I took in a sharp breath when he laid his head on my left shoulder.

"You're sure." He said, even closer to my ear.

He hugged me tighter to his body. I had never seen him like this before. I had never heard him speak with his honey toned voice in such a way before. It drew me too him. But I was frightened. I began to take in ragged breaths.
