Annie joined her men and began circling me. One lunged for me and I used my powers to throw him into his mistress. They were forced into the wall near the windows. Annie squeeled and pushed the large man off of her. He layed on the ground and slowly got up on his feet after a while.

Before I could respond the second man wrapped one of his arms around my neck and held my hands behind my back with his other.

"Hold her there." Annie commanded.

She walked over to one of her dead human commrades and stole the gun from his hand. Annie aimed for me.

"Annie...!" Koien warned.

"Don't you Annie me!" She wailed and shot.

I flung the bullet back with my powers at the first man who had just recovered and started to come back over to the fight. He fell to the ground dead as the gun shot rang.

Annie had completely missed the series of events. Her eyes were confused, looking at the gun and then me. She aimed again and fired. This time I made the bullet spin pass the second man and me and into one of the shards of window that was still hanging onto the frame barely. It shattered and the remaining pieces fell to the ground.

Now she was stunned. I stared back at her innocently. In the background, I could hear Koien leaving out a sigh of relief that the bullet hadn't struck her. Annie threw down the gun in fustration and paced over to another dead commrade. She stole his sword and marched back to me. Annie prepared to trust it into my chest, but I used the cold air around me to make her miss every time.

She threw the sword away into the wall and stood staring hatefully at me. Annie had probably thought she could deal with me quickly. She thought wrong and was now fustrated.

"Hold her there." Annie commanded to the man who had me in his grip.

The woman walked furiously to the other side of the room and up the balcony steps.

"Out of my way Koien." she snarled.

Koien nervously shuffled out of her way and stood in the background. Annie walked right up to Kaito and grabbed him by the collar. She proceeded to drag him over to the railing of the balcony.

"Turn her so she faces dirrectly to the balcony." Annie commanded the man who held me.

I was spun so that now I could fully see the steps and balcony instead of peeking out of the corner of my eye. Koien stayed in the corner, his face solem.

"I want you to watch him as he falls to his death." Annie hissed at me.

Using her powers of levitation she dragged him up into the air. Kaito began to choke slowly by the way she held him by the collar. Now she was testing my nerves. She was hesitantly raising up in the air making it all the more painful for me, but I wouldn't beg her to let him go. That was exactly what she would want me to do.

I checked the situation over. I could catch Kaito using my powers if I had both of my hands free. Doing larger tasks like picking up a person seemed to take more out of me for it to work. However, the second man had me in a tight vice grip. I could probably get out of his grip, but then what would Annie do to Kaito if she saw me breaking free? All I would have to do is wait.

"If Kaito won't have me he can't have you either...!" Annie complained.

"Annie....!" Kaito said through a wispy breath.

"Good bye love!" Annie said sweetly, then laughed.

She let go of Kaito and he began to plumet. At the same time I stomped hard on my capture's foot making his grip loosen on me in a wince of pain. I yanked my arms free and pried his hands from my neck. He stumbled, not prepared for me to do that, and fell to the ground. With one hand I commanded the cold air to throw him backward into the wall as I ran to get closer to Kaito.

As he fell closer to the ground my power rushed and met him, keeping him suspended in mid air. I began to slowly lower him down to the ground. Annie had already guessed that I would try and save him though. She began flying towards Kaito and I like a mad woman. I couldn't redirect my powers now---I would drop Kaito. I was defenceless.

My eyes flashed up to Koien who was still on the balcony. He was watching helplessly as things unfolded. No doubt he had thought that things had gone too far. His eyes met mine and he made a split second decision. With his vampire strength and speed he ran to the balcony rail, used it to launch himself up into the air, and collided dirrectly into Annie who hadn't been paying attention. She was thrown off balance and they were forced into the wall.

They landed with a thud on the ground. In that short time I had been able to lower Kaito to the ground. He was already up on his feet and standing beside me. Now it was two on two, or, three on one I hoped.

"What did you think you were doing!" Annie screamed at him.

"She was going to...to.....to throw glass shards at you!" Koien stuttered.

"If that's the case, prove your loyalty to me. Kill them both!" She ordered him.

"You don't have to do this Koien." Kaito begged.

Koien glanced nervously at us and Annie.

"She doesn't love you Koien. She never did." Kaito continued.

"That's not why I joined her!" Koien yelled.

His voice had never gone above conversation tone before. It was shocking to hear him this loud, even if I had just met him. And what was stranger was that Kaito acted as if he knew Koien personally. He had never mentioned him before. Well, he hadn't mentioned his little sister before either. I began to wonder what things he had kept secret form me.

"I owe her a favor." Koien said softly.

Annie smiled and picked up a gun-- holding it out for him.

"Kill. Them. Now." Annie commanded.

Koien took the gun from her hand and faced us. He began to take steps towards us. I went to call on my powers......and found that they wouldn't respond. Panic spread through me. Why wouldn't my powers work? Had I used all of the strength I had already? That must be it. There was no explanation for it. Nobody else was around to prevent me from using them.

Koien came closer and closer and then stopped. He held the gun up emotionlessly and aimed at us. A look of shock was all over Kaito's face. Annie was relishing the moment. I didn't know what to think. Koien had helped me only to gain back Annie's trust and kill me? I couldn't believe it. He pulled the trigger and my eyes instantly flinched shut.

It was strange. Last time my life had been on the line I had gone into Limbo, a place between life and death. I had been full of pain before I had finally passed out. I hadn't expected the gun shot to take me out so quick and with no pain. Then it hit me, no pain? I opened my eyes. Yes, I was still alive. My eyes flickered over to Kaito. He stood in shock, not able to speak, but he wasn't hurt either. Next my eyes fell on Koien. His back was to both of us, the gun still in his hands.

The person who had been shot was Annie. She laid on the floor, leaning against the window sill and trying to keep herself up. The gunshot had landed right in the middle of her torso. Her clothing was soaked through with blood. A pool was starting to gather around her. Annie was gazing at Koien, her eyes full of shock and remorse. Tears gathered at the corners of her eyes. She stayed alive for ten more seconds, then fell to the ground lifeless.

Koien remained frozen in place, unable to move.
