Emma
We stopped at the police station and made our way to the underground jail for vampires. The guard allowed Koien to accompany because he wouldn't let me go without him. He wanted to make sure that I wasn't going to be harmed.
Once I had located Zero's cell, Koiens eyes widdened with suspicion.
"What are we doing here?" he said displeased and so softly that Zero couldn't hear.
"Who else did you think I was going to be visiting?" I snapped, whispering also.
I looked into the cell and located Zero on his cot. He was half laying, half sitting up, using the wall for a prop. His eyes were closed and his head bent over. The clothing he wore had become even more ragged and I noticed that his breaths were shallow once again.
"Zero?" I called, raising my voice so that he could hear.
He didn't respond at first and remained staring down at the cot. Eventually, his curiosity took over and he peeked up. His eyes landed on me, and then his head jerked up and he removed himself from the corner. He sat on the edge of cot though, not trusting his legs anymore.
"Emma." Zero replied kindly. Then he saw Koien and his mood turned sobber."Who's he?" he grumbled.
"This is Koien, Kaito's cousin." I said, introducing him since he didn't look like he was up for it.
"Cousin? So he's a pureblood too?" He asked, now back to his curious state.
"No, I'm only a noble." Koien answered for himself, but he was still cross.
"I've come here to fulfill my promise like I said I would." I said, ignoring Koien's rudeness.
His eyes looked to me, then flashed to Koien and back. Zero didn't think it was a good idea that he was going to be in our presence.
"He won't leave my side. It's Katio's orders." I defended Koien.
My guard eyed me suspiciously, but even more so when I rolled up my dress sleeve.
"Try not to get any on my dress." I asked him gently.
"Hmm." Zero chuckled."I never imagined that I'd see you in a dress."
But when I held my arm out, he became serious again. He took great care not to cause me any discomfort when he brought my arm closer to him and through the bars. Turning my arm just so, he gently bit into a vein. This through Koien into outrage.
"What do you think you're doing?! Does Kaito know you're doing this!?" he blurted out as Zero fed from me.
"I'm keep Zero alive, that's what I'm doing." I remarked."And I believe he does know this, because Kogeta is obligated to telling Kaito my every move that might put my life in danger. He obviously doesn't object or he'd of stormed in on us now already." I snapped at him.
Koien's eyes lowered, feeling guilty that he had accused my judgement. He waited and leaned up against the bars of Zero's cell.
Zero removed his lips from my arm, signalling he was done. He hadn't taken as much from me as last time and the fang marks weren't as deep as before. He was sustaining from me because he was afraid to hurt me. I looked at my arm and watched as the marks healed before my eyes.
"Step aside." Koien ordered deadpan.
I had no idea what he was up to so I did as he asked. He stood before Zero and I was afraid he was going to hurt him. Zero scooted back on his cot warily, trying to put distance between them. However, instead of trying to hit Zero he held his arm up and rolled his sleeve up like I did. He thrust it to the bars of the cell and looked through them to the vampire on the other side coldly.
