Rose~n~Vampire: Chapter 27

I woke and tried to stretch, but my hands were bound by something. I opened my eyes and found myself in a small strange bedroom. My hands were in handcuffs that were bound by the headboard of the bed. This was definately not the place I fell asleep in. The curtains were drawn, only allowing a hint of light in the room. From what I could tell, the queen sized bed I was on was the only furniture in the room. The room's walls were a dark dreary color.

I turned my attention back to the small windows. They were the only ones in the roon on my right. The only door out of the room was dirrectly in front of the bed. I tried to struggle out of my handcuffs only to realize that my ankles were handcuffed to the footboard as well. I was stuck on my back with my hands above my head.

The door creaked open, but from my position I could barely see who it was. There were no pillows on the bed and it was hard to keep my head up for long to look. I heard the floor boards creak as the person walked to my left of the bed. When the noise stopped, I figured the person had paused beside the bed.

"She's awake." an old man's voice said. I didn't look at him.

"What are you going to do Travis?" another voice said. I felt like I should remember the voice, but couldn't place it with the person it belonged to.

"I told you not to use names. Any information at all could tip them off on us." The old man growled. I guessed he meant vampires when he said them."One of them can read minds. Don't forget that."

The floor boards creaked again, this time closer to me.

"We need you to stay out for little bit more." he said coldly." Sweet dreams princess." He added with a chuckle.

I felt a hand hit the back of my neck hard. I tried to keep conciousness, but my eyes began to falter. They finally closed after a few seconds of struggle. I heard the old man give a rough laugh and then all my senses were gone.

I had come too late. When I finally got to the medical bay, Emma was no where in sight. The nurse had said she had fallen asleep on one of the cotts. She said she hadn't heard Emma get up or leave. That only meant that the people who were responsible for the kidnapping were on the inside. One of their followers must have attended Cross academy, all we had to do was find out who was missing from today's classes.

How could I have been so careless? I should have listened to Emma. She said that her heart was fine. We could have avoided this all together.

But I consintrated on the search. No matter how much I thought of the could bes, the kidnapping had still happened and I needed to find Emma as soon as possible. With it being afternoon however, we found ourselves in a perdicament. Vampire's couldn't go out, they'd fry in the sun in an hour. And even with heavy clothing to cover their skin they couldn't last more than four hours. Vampire hunters wouldn't get themselves involved in with this mess and the teachers at school who were in the know were too busy with classes to help.

I paced back and forth in my room waiting for Kogeta to get a reading on where she was.

"Well, she was awake for a while but not long enough for me to pin-point her exact location." Kogeta finally said with his eyes closed as he sat in a chair. It was taking his full concentration to locate her.

"Where was she generally then?" I asked anxiously.

"She's was in the town where the day class students visit often, but more than likely the way she vanished from my mind..." he said.

I turned to him in fear.

"Don't worry. The signal is very weak and I can only tell she's still alive. The way she vanished made me think they're on to me. They don't want her awake long enough to let me get their position. In other words she'll probably be out and I won't be able to track her. And most likely they'll move a lot so others can't find her either." he said quickly.
