Rose~n~Vampire: Chapter 24

After I turned the corner, I decided that I should check out the outside of the academy to make sure there wasn't any Day class students hanging around. Once I exited the building I found myself on a walkway that looked simular to the one in Yuuki's memories of Cross Academy two years ago. I wondered if my mind had subconciously brought me here.

I stood in place for a while, looking at the scene and comparing it to the one Yuuki knew. It looked almost exactly the same, except that there were stone benches near the wall so that people could sit down. I went over to one of the benches and sat down facing the building.

Then I heard people talking from behind me so I turned my head to look to see who it was. The people talking were Zero and Yuuki. They were standing near the edge of the forest, facing each other with calm looks on their faces.
They had stopped. And to avoid being seen, I quietly shunk down so that my legs were on the bench now. I layed my arms on the wall and layed my head on top of them all the while watching their conversation.

"Zero? Are you okay?" Yuuki asked innocently. It made me sick she talked that way in front of Zero.

"You shouldn't have came back." Zero said back at her, not angry or sounding sad. In a regular tone.

"I did. And now we're here and you're going to tell me about your relationship with that girl." She said a little forcefully, but playful.

"She's just..............." Zero began. I inched forward, wanting to hear his exact words.

"Just what?" Yuuki asked playful but curiously.

Zero looked back towards Yuuki."She's nothing to me. She's already chosen someone else. Heck, I didn't even like her from the beginning. I just kept seeing you in her." he said in a voice louder than normal conversation and with a bit of anger."I thought that by dating her it would be the same as being with you!" he added, shouting it to the silent night.

"Zero........" She said in a sad voice.

But that was the only part of the conversation I heard. I was too caught up in my own thoughts.

Nothing!? Didn't like me to start!? He used me!? I thought angerly inside my head. He had used me from the start just so that he could 'be' with Yuuki again!? Unbelievable! How much of a jerk could this guy get! I actually liked him and maybe even more and he was just using me to fantasize his Yuuki!?

The anger built inside me as my thoughts raced until I couldn't stand it anymore. I leaped up and spun around angerly and I didn't care if they had spotted me. The wind caught my long hair that went down to my lower back and threw it in the air making it trail behind me as I walked, more like stomped, away.

Zero had just made my choice just that easier. The chain that once kept me between him and Kaito snapped.

After the meeting, I left the building and began patroling the grounds near the edge of the forest. I was walking until I heard someone from behind me. I speed walked in an attempt to get away.

"Zero! Please, let me catch up to you!" I heard Yuuki plead.

I did my best to maintain my pace, but the will of a pureblood made my legs slow down the tiniest bit.

"Zero! I'm so glad to..." She chirped when she finaly caught up to walk beside me.

"Leave me." I shouted, inturrupting her.

"Zero?" She pleaded.

"Just go away!" I shouted angerly, spinning around to face her and stopping completely in the process.
