Emma
As I arrived back at the academy, the sun was already up and the Day class students were already out on the grounds. In a normal situation, I would go back to Moon Dorm and sleep with all the other vampires, staying out of the sun. However, my business wasn't over yet. I still had to fulfill Zero's favor.
The sun made my skin feel tingly---a feeling that put me in unease. I didn't want to stay outside if I could help it. So I stayed within the shade of the building as much as I could as I walked. Most of the day class students that were outside class were stunned to see me walking out in broad day-light. They weren't used to seeing a Night class student out on their grounds.
I found the classroom I was looking for and knocked. Just as I suspected, the teacher was Yagari-sensei. He seemed shocked to see me awake during this time of day to.
"Emma, why are you out here right now?" He asked me.
I was sure that he'd never use that concerned tone with any other vampires he had met. He was usually cruel with them. I guessed that I was a special case where I had been a former human student of his.
"I need to talk to Yori." I told him.
He eyed me with suspicion and then turned back into the room. The people that could see me gasped with surprise that it had been a Night class student that had knocked on their class door.
"Yori, this girl's here to see you." Yagari said.
Yori stood up without hesitation and walked down the rows to the first floor door---the door I was at. She exited the room with me and Yagari closed the door behind us. Making sure that no one was around us, I relaxed and began to speak.
"Zero says that he's sorry for not being able to see you as of late." I told her.
"Zero?" She said surprised."Where is he? What's happened to him?" Yori asked desperately.
"I can't tell you that---not now at least." I replied.
"Who are you? And what do you mean by 'not now at least'?" she questioned further.
"I'm sure that you already know about vampires---you'd had two people you know turn into them." I said softly.
"Yes. Yuuki and Zero." She admitted.
"Technically, normal people aren't supose to know this information. I think it's only because you haven't spilled the secret yet. However, you aren't allowed to know anything beyond that vampires are real." I explained.
"Does that mean I'm in danger?" Yori asked frightened.
"No, well, at least not yet. I'm sure you want to be with Zero. The only solution him and I could come up with, was to take his place as a perfect. Then you'd be in the know."
"A perfect? What is that?" She asked, confused now.
"A person who keeps watch on the Night Class during the night. They make sure the Day class doesn't figure out Cross Academy's biggest secret." I answered.
"So that's why Yuuki was always out patroling the grounds..." Yori said, beginning to put things together.
"Yes. Zero wanted me to tell you this, however if you become a perfect or not is up to you. Knowing this information now, does put you in danger." I told her.
"Then.....you're Emma? Aren't you?" Yori suddenly asked.
I hadn't figured that she'd be able to put the facts together so easily.
"Rumors went around that you're dead just like Sam. The headmaster kept insisting that you were on vacation with your parents. Terrisa tried to send letters to you, but they never made it through. And all this time....." she trailed off thoughtfully."I'm not going to become a vampire? Am I?" She asked with terror.
