Rose~n~Vampire: Chapter 26

I got up and stretched. I looked over to the night stand beside my bed. My academy uniform was clean. I got up and changed into it, leaving the night gown folded on the night stand in its place. Once that was done I waited for Kaito to come. He said until the news of us being a couple was out, it wasn't safe for me to wander around the halls without him.

I became bored as I waited for him and I began to look around the room. This room was way better than my room back home and the day class dorm room put together. I could never get enough of it. It was just that the boredoom of having nothing to do was getting to me. I began to stand up from sitting on the bed when the door opened. I wondered if Kaito had Kogeta keep tabs on me so that I wouldn't get in danger. Kaito walked across the room to me.

"I was thinking that, because you like the room so much, why not let it be your only bedroom. If I can convince the headmaster, this will be your perminant residence while at cross academy. What do you think of that?" He asked in a very good mood.

"I'd like that very much." I answered with a smile. He seemed to brighten up more." In fact I think I'll go over to the Day class dorm and get some of my belongings right now." I said and began to the door.

"You don't have to do that. I can get one of the others to do that for you." Kaito said, refering to his followers.

"No, I'll get my stuff. I don't like bothering them for everything I need." I cut in before he could think the order to Kogeta." Plus, wouldn't it be hard for them to be among all the Day class students?" I added for a back-up reason.

"I guess it would be...." He said trailing off." Just don't take too long, okay?" Kaito said a little worried.

"Okay." I responded confidently.

Kaito let me through to the door and I walked down the hallway to the stairs.

What could happen to me in that short period of time? I joked inside my head. Wait, maybe I shouldn't have thought that. When ever I thought nothing could happen, something always did. I always had to jinx myself.

I pushed my way through the front doors of Moon dorm and made my way down the sidewalk. I went past the gate and then to the courtyard and so on until I reached the Day class dorms. Then I made my way to the stairs to the second floor and down the hallway to my room.

I got my keys out of my pocket and began to search for the one that would unlock my dorm room. Sam would be in school by now and in history class. I would have to explain to her why my stuff was gone. At least Risa could move in and take my side of the room. She would finally be out of the room she shared with the nerd girl.

I located the key and slid it into place and unlocked the door, but for some reason I had an uneasy feeling. Like I shouldn't open the door. I thought past it. I was only going to be here for a few minutes to collect my things.

I gave a deep breath and pushed open the door until I could see into the room. Then I froze. My hand wouldn't let go of the door. My legs wouldn't respond. My mind couldn't believe it.

Beside my desk was a corpse of a girl. And it wasn't just any girl. It was the dead body of my friend Sam. I began to tremble in fear. I needed to get out of here. What if the killer was still around. Why did Sam have to be the one to die!? No matter what my body wouldn't move or make a noise. I urged my voice to break out into a scream, but the only thing that came out was ragged breathing.

Thud-da Thud-da went my heart. The irregular beat started in my chest and began to spread. My chest began to hurt so much it felt like it was going to explode. I managed to let go of the door but all that did was make me fall on my butt because my legs wouldn't respond. I used my arms to inch back against the opposing wall. My heart calmed down a little but not by much.
