Once we were close to town Kogeta had to slow down so that he didn't get a ticket. He drove carefully through the streets of town making his way to the other side of the newer part. We came to a stop in front of a series of buildings and shops that didn't have many people around.

Toran and Arashi stepped out of the car and they helped me get out of the car. Before I could turn around, Kogeta stepped on the gas and was gone in a matter of minutes. He and Violet had decided to go where ever they were going without us tagging along.

I survied my new surroundings. I had never been to this side of town. There were nice little houses that were two stories high and no more than three inches apart from each other. The road was the only path through the houses as there were no ally ways. It didn't look like there was any body living in the houses. The street was a perfectly silent.

Toran and Arashi started to walk down the street, looking like they had an actual destination. I started after them and was soon behind them, trying to keep their pace.

"Where are we going?" I asked Arashi. He would be honest with me.

"We're picking out a gift for Violet. Her birthday is tonight." he answered.

"Really? Then why did Kogeta bring her along with us to town?" I asked.

"Kogeta wanted to do something special. Plus, it gives the others time to set up the party and us to buy a gift." he responded."And with you along we should have no trouble picking out a gift for her."

"Okay, but I don't see any shops around." I said, looking at the houses around us.

"The shops are further down the street." he said, pointing to a group of buildings.

I walked behind them in silence then until we reached the first shop. Toran held the door open for me and we all walked in. The shop was elegant and bright inside thanks to the large front windows. There were all sorts of trinkets and jewlery in cases. I looked at several necklaces nearby, but none of them caught my eye. Then I spotted a ruby red rose jem that had a silver chain. It was beautiful, but I was looking for a present for Violet I reminded myself.

I found a small silver outline of a heart with a few small diamonds, three in a row, on the left side of it. The chain for the necklace was actually a see-through purple ribbon that you tied into a bow to put it on. I thought this would be a good present for Violet and I showed it to Toran and Arashi. They agreed without arguing with me because they said they had no expertise in this area. The shop owner came out from the back room and Arashi payed for the necklace and had it put in a box and wrapped. We then exited the shop into the fresh air.

"Now what do we do?" I asked.

"Look around. Kogeta isn't going to be back for a while." Toran answered, sounding uterly bored.

"How long is a while?" I asked, dreading the answer a bit.

"Two hours." Toran said slowly.

Great, I thought. What were we going to do in the meantime? Toran and Arashi began down the street again looking in the windows. I reluctantly followed.

~"~

Only twenty minutes had passed since we left the shop. I was getting really bored. My two vampire friends were extremely bored as well. We were sitting on a park bench in the hot sun. So much for winter coming early, it felt like it was summer.

"I know what we could do." Toran said with unusual cheer in his voice.

"What." Arashi asked with no enthusiam.

"Let's go find us a level E." he said.

There was a moments pause.

"I don't think that's a good idea." I said.
