"Eliza, I don't think your Daddy is coming to take you home for a long time." A smile grows on the faces of these two beautiful children as they realise the full extent of their freedom.
"Will you take care of us?!" Eliza asks all too excitedly, grabbing hold of my hand as little Astre tugs on my coat.
"Yes, but on one condition. You have to keep this one massive secret."
"We promise we won't tell it!" They announce in unison, probably expecting something rather exciting.
"Okay...well, you see...As your new father I have to confess that I am in love with someone very special who also wants to be your parent."
"Who?! Lizzy?"
"No, not Lizzy...Sweetheart, will you please show yourself?" I ask, nervously. Feeling the anxiety gnawing away at me.
But, as soon as Sebastian enters the room, Astre waddles his way over to his leg to cling on to him like the adorable child he is.
"You see...Sebastian is my fiancé and he's also your father, if you choose to accept him as such."
"You're in love with a boy?" Eliza inquires innocently as Sebastian lifts Astre into his arms.
"Very much so."
"How are you going to marry him?" It almost seems like she's concerned about it.
"Well, we'd need it to be a secret-"
"Who's my Daddy?" Astre asks Sebastian as his eyes wander between the both of us.
"Whoever you would like it to be, sweetheart."
"Then, Ciel is Mama?
"I can be if that is what you prefer, but only in private. If we have a guest over you can't call me Mama or call Sebastian Daddy."
"Why not?"
"Well sweetheart, there are bad people that would do very bad things to Mama and Daddy if people knew we loved each other."
Or fucked each other.
But I can't say that in front of the kids.
"But why?"
"Because our love is seen as a sin against God."
"But if God created everything, then he created boys who love boys too!"
"Oh Eliza, if only everyone was as clever as you. Maybe then they'd figure this out for themselves. Until then...when we leave the house together, we'll have to dress up in costumes."
"So you'll have to be a woman?"
"Unfortunately yes, but we'll prosper." Gently, I pat her head, gaining a smile from the girl. "In the meantime, why don't we go and pick a bedroom?"
"I want the big one!" Astre declares to Sebastian only to hear the best reply a child could dream of.
"Oh sweetheart, they're all 'the big one'"

The children have ran in and out of every bedroom on the first floor before actually realising that there even was a second floor to explore. "Mama?" I really need to get used to that.
"Yes?"
"How did you afford such a big house?"
"Well, my Mother and Father inherited in from our ancestors. The Phantomhive family has always owned this house and it's riches." I won't mention that Sebastian had to build this one because the original was burnt to a crisp.
"But where are your parents?"
Oh.
Oh shit.
"They died when I was ten years old." I answer as non-chalantly as I possibly can, feeling my throat tighten at the very mention of them.
"I'm sorry..."
"Don't die on me!" Astre you little shi-
"He won't, I promise." Alright I'll calm down now. Sebastian has saved my mood once again.
"Anyway, the Phantomhive's own Funtom Company, the toy store that sells bitter rabbits and tons of sweets."
"Our...what do I call him now?"
"Scumbag." Sebastian shoots me a glare that could kill a thousand men. Or make a Grell very, very happy.
"Oh okay! Our scumbag never bought us toys."
See? It fits!
"It's a good thing that your new parents own hundreds of toys to spoil you with then, isn't it?"
"Really?! You would do that?"
"Of course! You're Phantomhive children now. You only receive the best of the best, which is why, if you pick bedrooms close to ours, I'll bake you a cake of your choice." Oh yes, bribe the children to become the favourite.
"Yes, Sir!" They both chant, running away as soon as Sebastian sets Astre down onto the ground, leaving just the two of us once more.
"Scumbag? Really?" He asks rhetorically, with a disapproving look as he pulls me into a hug.
"You're surprised?! It took all of my strength to come up with a non-profane term."
"That's true, but apart from that blip you did amazingly."
"Is there anything that I can't do in your eyes?"
"Sports."
"I win at cricket, pool and darts!"
"Alright let me try again. You can't go outside in the cold."
"I can if I only go outside for a few minutes. Try again."
"You can't stop getting kidnapped."
"I haven't been kidnapped in over a year, try again."
"You can't be any more attractive than you are right now."
"How about...now?" I ask, flashing a rather suggestive smile.
"Oh! I have one." His lips brush against the shell of my ear as he whispers the words, "You can't sleep with me without screaming my name."
"Try me."
