Ciel's POV

I awaken to a cold, empty bed. My arm reaching out for the demon that isn't there. Heartbreaking, I sit up. Hugging my knees in wait. Hoping that this time, he'll come back. That this time, I will be able to hold him in my arms.

That this time, I will be in control.

My body will be mine again. There is no going back. No reversals.

Five minutes pass. Then ten. Then fifteen, as I await his arrival. The longer the wait becomes, the harder it is not to burst into a flood of tears.

Unfortunately, the romance within my favourite novel only digs further into my despair instead of aiding my recovery. The tears beginning to fall as my bedroom door swings open, my loving demon waiting for a physical reaction to his presence that, thankfully, never comes.

"My poor little kitten, how are you feeling?" The nickname used in sincerity not seductively provides a calming effect that I can barely describe in plain English.

My heart swelling the moment that he realises that his presence no longer causes an undesired effect. Practically running to encapsulate me in a well needed embrace.

Yet I can no longer contain myself, crying out my heart ache against my lover's soft chest. His comfort only fuelling my despair as his arms pull me even closer, to the point where I am sitting on top of him.

To my surprise, he sways us back and forth like a mother holding her infant.

Back and forth. Back and forth. Back and forth.

"I'm so sorry to leave you like this, darling. I know how lonely you must've felt...I heard you toss and turn in your sleep and all I wanted to do was come to your side..." He can barely contain himself as he kisses my head, only to want another and another and another until I am left giggling as his sweet kisses leave a tingle behind. Forcing my hands to run through my hair, scratching all over.

"Poor kitty, did I make you itchy~?" His amusement clear in his tone as his hands join mine in an effort to ease the itch he's accidentally left me with.

It is only as it begins to calm down that he decides to continue to treat me as one of his feline friends, he rests my head against his shoulder in order to extend my neck, gazing deeply into my eyes as his right hand strokes my hair and all the way down my neck. Leaving shivers in his wake.

In the midst of serenity, I relax. Closing my eyes to enjoy the affection. Only to be startled by a strange vibration in my throat. One that scares the living shit out of me.

I jump to Sebastian's surprise, only to be settled back down by the demon, who begins to laugh of all things!

"Ciel, you're purring~"

Fuck no.

Fucking Hell, why must I be so embarrassing?!

"It's adorable."

"I'm not adorable Sebastian-"

"You always have been adorable, my love. Purring is just how your body tells you something feels really calming. Nothing to be ashamed of."

"But it's embarrassing-"

"You used to think nudity was embarrassing."

"It is-"

"Just not with me. You should never be embarrassed with me. I'm your fiancé. Your future husband and the father of your child. If anything, I should be the only person that won't embarrass you."

"You're right...it's just-"

"Making you feel self-conscious?"

"Yeah."

"I promise you that every part of you is worthy of your pride. Demon and all. Besides, you purr in your sleep."

Flustered, I refuse to say a word, wondering how my body could betray me this way!

"Don't look so embarrassed Ciel, you're purrfect~"

"Fuck you."

"By all means, fuck me~" I can't stay mad at him for too long. His silver tongue takes care of that quite nicely.

"I think I've had enough of fucking you for the next few days, thank you very much." His laugh is music to my ears as he nods in agreement.

"To be fair, I don't blame you. But I swear to you that our relationship will forever be in your hands. You're in control between us and no matter what happens in the future, if this problem ever arises again, I will do whatever you need to feel better. Alright?"

"Alright. But 'arises'? Really?" I let out a chuckle as I raise my brow, my head shifts on his shoulder.

"Poor choice of words I'm afraid."

"But fittingly so." I allow myself to sit there, quite content as I gaze into my demon's humoured eyes. Only to be interrupted by his words.

"Now that you're alright, would you like to exercise your new powers?"

I think on it for a moment, but I had already made up my mind.

"Can we just...can we just stay like this for a while?"

"Until you fall asleep...?"

I couldn't roll my eyes any harder
