In which Valt meets the resistance, the last ray of hope in this forsaken world.

"We're landing in El Astro, now," Tsujihara tells me. "Would you please wake up Lui?"

"Sure." I reach over and gently shake Lui's shoulder. He snaps awake the moment I touch him, and I jerk my hand back in alarm. He gives me a look, but before he can say anything the helicopter lands.

When I look out the window, I can see BC Sol HQ. On the outside, it doesn't look like much has changed. I wonder if anything's changed inside?

We get out of the helicopter, and Tsujihara begins leading us towards the gym. "I alerted everyone to our arrival and requested that they gather there so they can all hear the news," He explains. Lui and I nod out of sync.

He opens the door for us and he comes in after us, shutting the door.

The moment we do, it becomes so quiet you can hear a pen drop.

I look into the room, seeing nearly everyone I know from BC Sol and the other teams gathered together. The rest of the Bey Club stand at the front with Free and Kristina. Everyone stares with wide eyes, shocked and pale, and with what I know about the other Valt, I can't blame them.

But it's Free out of the daze first, and without a word he strides across the gym over to where we stand. He meets Lui's gaze and it's like they're talking even though they don't say anything. He turns his head and just stares at me, so much that I can feel my stomach starting to turn.

"Partner, perhaps he wants to see me," Valtryek suggests quietly. I swallow hard, fishing it out of my pocket and showing Free. He gets the same look in his eyes that Lui did, then he turns to the others and nods.

"It really is him. He has Genesis Valtryek."

And in an instant, the Bey Club is bolting forward, crying out for me. "Valt!"

"Guys!" I call back as they all pull me into a hug, crying and telling me how much they missed me. As I do my best to hug them back, I find myself noticing all that's changed with them. Wakiya cut his hair short, Ken doesn't have Keru or Besu, Honcho is wearing a cotton patch over his right eye, and they're all wearing some kind of uniform for BC Sol's resistance. They've all changed so much, but I know that on the inside, they're the same friends I've always cared for.

Daigo's still short, though.

"I missed you guys, too! I'm so glad you're all okay," I tell them, pulling back a bit and turning to Honcho, "B- But hey, what happened to your eye?"

He blinks, surprised for a moment, then smiles sheepishly. "Uh, I kind of got cornered after I managed to destroy a Spryzen- but it's gonna heal, don't worry!"

"How are you alive? The last time we saw you..." Daigo trails off, and I can see so much pain in his eyes.

I can't really figure out how to say it, and I look to Lui for help.

He sighs softly and tells them, "This isn't the Valt we know. Valtryek brought him here from a completely different world."

"Are you kidding me? Tell us the truth!" Wakiya snaps.

"It is the truth, Wakiya," Free says before Lui and I can. "I can sense it. Valtryek has more power than we know, and so does this Valt. That's why he was brought here."

"But that makes no sense!"

"Neither does him spontaneously coming back to life," Free tilts his head to the side. Wakiya takes a breath like he has something more to say, but he looks at his and Lui's faces and thinks better of it.
