In which this story has reached a very big milestone, and I want to thank everyone for that. True to form, though, I will be speaking my words for a Blader who, like me, is grateful for what they have.

-----

Everyone sat comfortably in Shu's living room, all curious and eager to see what the beast Blader wanted to say. Shu sat down in a chair across from them, smiling shyly. "Thank you all for coming here. I know it's probably not the most convenient time, in the middle of the week..."

"That's okay, Shu!" Valt chirped. "None of us mind."

Rantaro, Ken, Wakiya and Daigo all nodded in agreement, smiling at their recently returned friend. Shu took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a moment.

"I wanted to say... Thank you for staying with me... And for never giving up on me."

Everyone still smiled, but there was now a gleam of sadness in their eyes. The recent times had been trying, and tough for them all. It was a miracle they got Shu back, especially when most of the gang was ready to give up on him.

Shu sniffled, unable to stop himself from getting choked up as the words he'd been rehearsing truly came into play. He let his head hang, staring at his blurry feet.

"If it w-wasn't for you all, I- I don't know where I'd be... You've helped to- to bring back who I was, and shape me into an even better person today... I'm still- I'm still not the easiest person t-to deal with... And I'm so screwed up r-right now that- that it's hard to see why you even stay... B-Because I still d-don't feel worth it... But I'm so glad, and grateful that you are..."

He wiped his eyes, lifting his head to find that his friends had all joined his side, their hands all on his and smiles true. He smiled brightly through the tears spilling down his cheeks, continuing.

"I can't even begin to say how much- how much I appreciate your friendship, your help, and your loyalty. Y-You're the greatest friends anyone could ever ask for, and I'm so happy to have you with me... Thank you all..."

The group said nothing, simply pulling the red-eyed boy into a hug and crying with him. The pain was still fresh, and the heartache was hard to do away with, but they'd all get through it together.

Because that's what a family did for each other.

It may not always seem like it, but I am truly and wholly grateful for every single read, vote, and comment. I'm grateful for the praise and the critiques, as well as all the folks who added my story to their reading list.

Because of you all, I definitely know that my work is appreciated and worthwhile. Some people can't see the use in writing fanfiction, and they don't take it seriously, but you all do! And I appreciate that so much!

Once more, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
