In which we see a new variant of the You Are Awake timeline that follows a closer path to the canon world of Beyblade, but not quite. In this one, Shu doubles as the manager of the Raging Bulls and as a detective/vigilante for hire. Working by his side is none other than the Dark Prince, Hyde.
Together, they're the ultimate detective duo and they can always get away without a scratch... But their luck runs out when they're caught during a case and Hyde is forced to make a nasty decision.
(Try to Wake, Try to Escape AU. Set during Turbo and inspired by Fran Bow. Hyde and Shu are both thirteen, Hyde may be OOC.)

Two figures stood in the old warehouse, both garbed in dark trench coats and armed with guns. One of those firearms was exactly the piece of evidence needed to prove the man holding it was responsible for the murder of a witness to the crimes of the other man- a big NYC crime boss. He was known to some in his league as Aim, because it was always dead-on.

"So, I heard that you made a big mess of things..." Aim spoke, slowly pushing the hammer of his gun back. "Everyone in the city knows that Jane had been murdered, even though I wanted it look like an accident."

"Maybe I did. But she's dead, and that's what matters." The other man scowled.

"You don't seem worried about the police, then. Or those little detectives they never put on a leash..."

"What, you mean that little Shu Kurenai and Hyde?" The man laughed heartily, waving his free hand dismissively. "I don't even exist to those two! They ain't never caught a sniff of me, and those little kids ain't ever going to!"

The man kept laughing, blissfully unaware of the eyes watching him from the high catwalk. Those eyes- one pair red as the sunset and the other pair both red like a rose and green as its thorns- belonged to none other than the detectives Aim had spoken of.

Shu and Hyde exchanged glances at that, both allowing themselves little smirks before they turned their attention back to the criminals, whose confession was already being recorded on Shu's black cellphone.

"Oh, I wouldn't be too sure of that." Aim suddenly said, interrupting the man's laughter. "They're both very perceptive, after all..."

The two detectives looked at each other uneasily, dread settling on their shoulders even though they didn't know why. Shu noticed something that only worsened the feeling and whispered under his breath. "His snake has fallen silent..."

Hyde's eyes widened, then he whispered back softly. "I think we should go. I have a bad feeling about this..."

The beast Blader nodded in agreement, stopping the recording and tucking his phone away, but before they could begin to make their exit a bullet was fired and the catwalk began to lurch underneath them.

"W-Whoa!" Hyde yelped before his hand shot out instinctively and grabbed on of the handrails. He grabbed onto Shu's arm with his other hand, closing his eyes as the catwalk's end fell, swinging the two right into the view of Aim and his confidant.

"They're already here?!" The second man cried out, his eyes bugging out of his head almost comedically. Hyde tried to get a foothold in the grated flooring of the catwalk to no avail, then when he thought to try climbing the handrails, a bullet was shot through his arm.

"GAAAH!"

"H-Hyde!" Shu yipped just as they began to fall, then both detectives hit the concrete floor with heavy thumps, the red-eyed detective going limp on impact. Hyde had fallen on top of him and accidentally elbowed his skull into the floor.

"Shit! Shu, wake up!" The red-and-green-eyed detective pleaded, shaking his partner with his good arm until he heard footsteps and, remembering Aim, looked to the source. His already-pale skin only turned paler, his visible eye shining with fear when faced with the sight of a gun aimed at his skull.
