In which a heavy shower rains over the city of Beigoma one lazy fall afternoon, and unfortunately for a young girl named Kazuma Senzai, she's caught without an umbrella. When she tries to brave the rain to forge her way home, a kind, masked gentleman steps in to keep her from getting too soaked. (Kazuma is thirteen and a background character from episode 47 of Beyblade Burst- in the picture above, she's the girl in the green dress. Takes place after The Quest of the Lamb.)

Kra-ka-BOOM!

I stare out at the pouring rain, shivering slightly as the wind gusts through and flicks icy droplets onto my skin. If only I had known the sunny, warm day was going to turn into a freezing torrent, I'd have grabbed my umbrella...

But I have to get home. I don't know how long this will last, and I don't want to give my parents the heart attack of coming home to an empty, daughter-less house when I said I'd be home by the time they were. My phone isn't getting any signal in this mess, so I can't even call to warn them.

I don't really have any choice. If I want to get home on time I have to grin and bear it- at least I can take a potion to kill any pneumonia or cold potential.

With that in mind I take a deep breath, closing my eyes and bracing myself before stepping out of the grocery store and into the freezing rain. "Eek! Ah, gods, yipes!" I yelp, clutching my grocery bag close to my chest and forcing my eyes open. "Oh, why didn't I check the weather today?..."

Of course, despite the complaints, I have to forge on. I make it to a streetlight after a few minutes, staring up miserably at the red pedestrian light. It seems intent on staying red, even though there aren't any cars passing by.

Aside from the sound of thunder and pounding rain, there's nothing to hear. At least, not until a voice rings out...

"Ah, it seems misery strikes again!"

"Huh?" I know that voice! I lower my gaze and glance around, turning leftways to face the source that causes me to let out a gasp as my eyes widen. Armed with an umbrella, wearing a thick coat and a teal-eyed mask stands the one, the only, the fabulous Zac the Sunrise!

"Oh! It's you!" I cheer, my heart hammering with excitement and nervousness. The light on his side of the road turns green and he begins to heroically dash forward, calling out,

"Do not despair, dear miss, the Masked Blader will gladly provide a means of shelter from the rain!" When he comes close enough he leaps forward, landing on my right side and- and his left ankle bends awkwardly, causing him to stumble. "AH NOT AGAIN!"

"Oh no!" I yelp, lunging to try and grab his wrist to keep him from falling and managing just barely to catch him. While I have him, I slip the handles of the grocery bag onto my arm and grab his other shoulder. Thankfully, the treads of my boots are meant for standing on wet ground, so I don't slip as I step close and help him right himself.

When he tries to put weight on his left leg he lets out a yip, and I quickly situate myself under his left arm to help him stay upright.

"Are you okay?" I murmur, feeling my heart ache sympathetically as he forces down the pained grimace on his face, raising the umbrella to shield us both.

"Ah, y-yes, of course. It just hurt when I put weight on my leg."

"I could tell. It looks like you may have sprained it pretty badly, Zac."

"W-Wait, you recognize me?" He asks, which I can't tell is a joke or not until he mumbles, "But I thought my disguise was perfect!..."

I feel bad at that, biting my lip for a moment. "Oh, um... Well, your disguise had me rather thrown off! For a moment, I had no idea who you were, but then I realized only the Zac the Sunrise would be so kind as to help a stranger in such weather!"
