Stitches and Wishes

In which we see an alternate universe where Valt is a lonely child, whereas Shu is a simple stuffed animal given to him at birth- and Valt's only comfort, with his parents gone so often. But what will happen one day when Valt wakes up and finds that his favorite toy has changed? (Richard may be OOC. Shu and Valt's interactions are all platonic.)

"Ahh, time for another fun and fulfilling day at work!" I chime, using my special voice for Shu as gently hold him up by his neck. Shu is my treasured stuffed animal, a snake with white, plush fur, red eyes, fangs and whiskers. "I'll sell Beybread all day long, and then I'll get to play with my bestest friends, Valt and Valtryek!"

"Silly Shu, we'll be able to play together all day, 'cause we work together!" I giggle, using my own voice. Shu stills for a moment, tilting his head, then he bounces upright.

"Oh, yeah! Then what're we waiting for? Let's get going!" I lower him to the floor, having him slither towards my bedroom door.

I hold up Valtryek, saying in a deep, deep voice. "Shu, you silly snake! You can't go to work naked!"

"What?" He looks himself over and yelps. "Ahhh! I can't believe I almosst left the housse naked!" He starts slithering towards the bed. "I gotta get my clothesss!"

I set down Valtryek, pulling Shu into my lap and slipping his pink shirt and black vest onto his body. After his vest is velcroed to his shirt, I slip his tie around his neck. "There we go! Now I'm dressed and ready for work!"

"Yay!" I cheer, then I cheer in Valtryek's voice.

"Let's go have fun at work!" Shu says. I pick him and Valtryek up, going out of my room and into the kitchen. "Before we get started, we definitely have to eat breakfast! It's the most important meal of the day!"

I go to the basket sitting on the counter, pulling off the cloth covering it and grabbing a couple loaves of Beybread. It's just the store-bought kind, since Mom is off on a business trip. It still tastes good, but it doesn't have any love in it...

"For starters, Beybread!" I put the cloth back on and pull out a plate, setting the bread on the plate and then grabbing a bowl and a spoon. "Next..." I go to the icebox, opening the freezer and pulling out a bucket of- "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!"

"But wait, isn't ice cream meant for dessert?" Shu asks, and I grin at him.

"That's the best part, Shu! Since no one is here to stop us..." I can't help but huff, feeling a little bitter before I continue. "We can have ice cream for breakfast!"

"Whooooa, awesome! Is it the cookie dough kind?!"

"You bet!" I start piling ice cream into the bowl, then I switch to Valtryek's voice.

"Be sure you don't let your eyes overload your tummy! Getting sick is no way to enjoy ice cream!"

"You're right, Valtryek! Luckily..." I put the lid back on, putting the bucket back in the freezer. "I know when to stop."

"That's very mature, Valt!" Shu comments.

"Why, thank you!" I set the plate and the bowl on the table, beginning to eat my breakfast. It's super yummy, especially when I combine the Beybread with the ice cream. When I finish, I grab Valtryek and Shu off the table and go back into my room, sitting at my desk.

"Time for work!" Shu chimes. "And today, I'm gonna earn another plaque for being the bestest business snake ever!"

"That'd be your twenty-fifth plaque, right?" Valtryek asks, and Shu nods his head. "You really do put the work in hard work!"
