In which two supposed enemies find each other in the last place they'd expect of one another, and they pick up where they left off out of the public's eye. (Red Eye x Amethyst Eye, they're both sixteen.)

"Masked Bladers, meet the newest addition to your ranks. This is Amethyst Eye." Ashtem declared, gesturing to the Blader who stood beside him, garbed in accents of purple and a mask with the rounded horns of a dragon.
Under the mask, the dragon Blader's eyes scanned the ranks of Masked Bladers before him, sizing each of them up in his head. Then his gaze stopped on a Blader with long, white hair and was clothed in accents of red.
Amethyst-colored eyes widened under the mask and his heart pounded faster, but he didn't let it show. He couldn't, or his image would be destroyed far too soon.
The red eyes of the mask met his, and they stared back with the same intensity.
"Now... Why don't we see where you stand among my ranks, Amethyst Eye?" Ashtem suggested, and the Masked Blader's lips curled into a Cheshire Cat grin that seemed to unnerve all but the one- the one who was used to seeing such a grin so close.
"Sure thing. I'll gladly crush your Bladers."
He battled the eight, and he won against the eight. Even the fabled Red Eye and his Legend Spryzen fell to Amethyst Eye's Nightmare Luinor.
"I have to admit, that was pretty fun." The dragon Blader cackled, watching the other pick up the crimson and black pieces of his Bey. "Maybe I'll keep you around. You amuse me."
Red Eye stared back silently, his lips pressed into a tight line of displeasure.
Despite that, the two didn't see each other again until the dark of midnight, when Red Eye sought out Amethyst Eye's room and knocked once on the door. It slid open, then without a word the beast Blader was yanked right in and the door shut again.
Before he even had time to react, he was grabbed by the collar and pulled into a passionate, unrestrained kiss with the force of a thousand waterfalls. Red Eye simply let his eyelids fall shut, enjoying the warmth from his love's rough lips as he melted into the kiss.
One hand moved from his collar to his hair, gripping it tightly and keeping him trapped so he couldn't pull away. In return, he wrapped his arms around Amethyst Eye's waist like he always did, hugging the dragon Blader close to his own body.
It became clear pretty quickly that Amethyst Eye had become more than a bit starved for Red Eye's love- and the beast Blader grunted when his back was slammed into the door and the dragon Blader ravenously pressed his lips to his love's again and again.
The two kissed each other almost endlessly, the sincerest 'I missed you' imaginable spoken through their shared touch. But when Red Eye's knees began to buckle it had to end, both Bladers pulling apart and gasping for air.
As he fought to regain his breath, Amethyst Eye rested his forehead against Red Eye's chest, listening to the beast Blader's pounding heart. His own heart ached with all the things he wanted to say- and even though he hadn't quite caught his breath, he had to let it out.
Right as holding in his thoughts became too unbearable, Amethyst Eye sucked in a deep breath and cried out. "Shu... I thought you were dead!..."
Red Eye frowned, reliving the guilt that hit him when he had told such a thing to his friends from the Bey Club. He knew that they hadn't passed the message on, but that didn't change the fact that he had disappeared off the face of the earth. What else was there to think?
"I didn't... Know what to- to do... I wanted to look, but I didn't know where to start..." Amethyst Eye's grip on Red Eye's soft hair tightened. "How did you even get here?..."
"I was brought by Ashtem, just like you." He answered calmly. "I lost to Free De La Hoya... And he told me that I needed to change who I was to beat him, so I did."
"Free." Came the vehement hiss, and Red Eye's heart skipped a beat in fear. "He beat me, too... I was so close, but then he won! And when it ended up all over the internet... Ashtem popped up and I went with him."
Amethyst Eye paused for a moment, lifting his head and murmuring to Red Eye. "So... It was you he was referring to... 'The Blader also working to beat Free'..."
"I wish I had told you, but... I was so consumed with vengence, my first few weeks here, that it didn't cross my mind... And then, my friends came looking... I knew if I told you after that my identity would be revealed."
"I don't care. I just care that I have you now."
"Ashtem won't like this, though..."
"Screw him, in that regard. I'm not losing you again." Amethyst Eye glared at nothing for a moment, then he gazed up to the face of his love and his scowl softened into a smile. "Take off your mask."
"Buy me dinner first.~" Red Eye grinned and poked out his tongue in a playful, almost cat-like manner. Amethyst Eye chuckled to himself, pulling off his own mask and looking at the beast Blader with a half-smirk.
"Shu..."
The mask came off just a moment after that, but then he leaned close to the dragon Blader's ear and whispered. "Shu Kurenai is gone. I'm Red Eye, now." After that came a few kisses pressed to Amethyst Eye's cheekbone.
"I understand... After all, Lui Shirosagi is gone, too." Amethyst Eye whispered back, then he dropped his mask to the floor and cupped Red Eye's face in his hands, clearing away the bangs from his right eye. As his lips brushed over the scar on his love's skin, the corners of his mouth fell to a frown and he murmured softly. "Will we have to pretend to hate one another here, too?..."
"I'm afraid so." Red Eye closed his eyes again, soaking in the warmth of the dragon Blader. "But it's better this way. Ashtem won't suspect anything."
"I hate having to pretened..."
"I know. I do, too... But like always, that will just make the sincerity so much sweeter."
Amethyst Eye couldn't muster a reply, his gaze falling to the steel floor. The beast Blader frowned, lifting his love's chin and kissing his lips. The passion began to build again, then Red Eye was pushed against the door as Amethyst Eye pressed into him, stealing as much warmth as he could.
There was only silence as the two Bladers kissed each other for a few minutes, then without warning the dragon Blader suddenly pulled away.
"Amethyst?" Red Eye murmured. "What's wrong?"
He seemed lost in thought for a moment, staring at the red gem-clasp adorning his love's jumpsuit... Then his gaze lifted, meeting Red Eye's worried stare. "If that's so... Then whenever I have you to myself, I'm going to make the most of it."
Instantly, the worry melted away and was replaced by a look of affection, those deep crimson eyes softening in the way they only did for Amethyst Eye. "Nothing would make me happier."
