In which Ashtem is looking for a Blader to participate as the very first experiment in the Beast Within Project, an experimental project meant to bring out the monster in any Blader who participates.
Silver Eye has the poor luck of being the perfect candidate for it, and the poor luck of not being able to say no.

"Silver Eye, your Beyblade is the epitome of what I'm looking for in this experiment," Ashtem declares. I can feel sweat already beading across my brow.

"Sir?" I question quietly.

"Savage Skinrekwal is a beast-type Bey inspired by a skin-walker, yes? A Native American witch that shape-shifted into any animal it liked."

"... Yes, sir."

He notices my unease, chuckling. "No need to look so apprehensive, Silver Eye. You should be flattered- honored, really. The Beast Within Project is a stepping stone to the Requiem Project, and we both know I don't choose just anyone for that project."

"I know, sir. I just- I'm aware of how experimental the Beast Within Project is, and..." I trail off, swallowing hard as he smiles.

"Ahhh, I see. Well, you should know that I've planned for every contingency and I have a plan for what to do if something goes wrong in every possible scenario. A to Z, one to one thousand. I wouldn't be asking you if I didn't. I value your life."

"May I- may I ask what happens if I say no?"

He frowns at that, answering, "Well, I'll be extremely angry and disappointed in you, Silver Eye. I may even have to send you home." I feel my heart plummet, beginning to hammer in my stomach and making me nauseous. "Because this is a project to make the best Bladers possible, and refusing to partake in it means that you're not looking to be the best, you're fine with being average."

"I'm not fine with being average!" I shout before I can stop myself, seeing him tilt his head and quickly remedying it, "I- I'm not find with being average, sir, I swear. I'm just asking out of- out of curiosity."

He slowly begins to smirk again. "So, then?"

"... I'll do it, Ashtem," I murmur, my gaze falling to my feet as I'm consumed by dread. I don't have a choice. I can't let him send me home!

"Good. I'm very happy to hear that." I hear him stand, then I jump a little when he touches my chin, forcing me to turn my head back to his face. "I promise you that nothing will go wrong. After all, it's a simple operation with all what-ifs accounted for, and you won't even be awake for it. You'll go under, and when you awake you'll achieve greatness. Before your friend Gold Eye, even."
