In which Delta has lost his battle against Blindt DeVoy and now has no choice but to spend the night. (Delta x Blindt, they're both probably going to be out of character. Don't like, don't read.)
-----
"And that's a Burst Finish! I have won our battle," Blindt declared, grinning at the seething demon Blader standing across the stadium. The devilish, red glow in his eyes would have frightened anyone else, in Blindt's case he only grew far more intrigued and excited. "Yes, that is just what I wanted to see. The darkness inside of you, festering deep in your beauty!"
The odd phrasing of the blue-eyed Blader's words made Delta blink and raise a curious brow. He took a breath to ask for clarification, but then Devolos' voice began to growl in his ear, calling his attention, "How could we have lost?! You must let me battle again! I must devour Balkesh!"
I know, Devolos. Delta gritted his teeth, picking up the pieces of his Bey and reassembling them before holding it outwards. "Battle me again!"
He watched as Blindt tore the scoresheet away from the canvas expectantly. But instead of turning back to face him and his challenge, the blue-eyed Blader turned the easel around and sat behind it, beginning to load his palette with new paints.
"What are you doing?" Delta snarled, clenching his fist as he walked over to the other. He could see Blindt's smirk clearly now, and it only grew as he answered,
"Now is no longer the time for battling. I must finish my next painting right away before I lose my inspiration."
He scoffed softly at that, then he turned and began to leave the room.
"Where are you going?!"
He won't listen to me as he is. We'll return when we're stronger and destroy him for certain when the time comes.
Devolos' voice faded as it begrudgingly accepted Delta's logic, and thus he continued on.
Despite the rich appearance of the mansion he was in, the lights had been turned off in all the halls and there were no windows to let in the light. Not that there had been much on the way in, there was a blanket of dark clouds in the sky and a blanket of fog in the woods that absorbed it.
As he walked through the narrow hall, he found himself glancing around at the walls around him. In the dark, he couldn't see well enough to make out any features along them. Every so often he'd reach out into the shadows to gain his bearings, feeling his fingertips brush along the wooden surface of a random end table.
Delta kept walking. Though, the amount of time it had been taking was cause for concern, especially since he knew he had memorize the way he'd taken to first get to Blindt.
But somehow, despite all odds, he founds himself right in front of the door he started at, glaring at the light pouring out from under it.
This is pathetic, how could I possibly gotten lost? I couldn't have possibly been going in circles this whole time, it's not like I'm in P.T. And this mansion certainly is not that large.
Then the door opened and Delta jumped back, bristling and bracing himself to attack. Of course, it was only Blindt, who was smiling at him in a way that drove Delta up the wall.
