Dean walked in the bunker library to find Cas sitting at the table. He was holding a... oh god.

"Cas, what is that?" He asked with a sneeze.

"I thought it was self evident."

"It is but-" He sneezed again. "Why do you have it?"

"Because they're adorable. Like you." Oh, god. How do I break this to him?

"Cas, I'm allergic to-" He sneezed once more. "I'm allergic to cats!"

Cas looked down at the white-black speckled kitten in his hands. "Oh." Was all he could say.

"I'm sorry, man, but the kitten has to go."

"All of them?"

Dean's blood ran cold. "Did you just-" He almost sneezed, but he didn't. "Did you just say... 'all of them'?"

Cas blushed. "Yes." He mumbled.

"Where are they?"

Cas got out of the chair he was sitting in and led Dean to a box full of kittens. There were five, including the one in Cas's hands.

"Bella's my favorite."

"Who's Bella?"

Cas gestured to the one he was holding. "This one." He started scratching her behind the ear. She mewed, which made Cas smile. Dean had to admit, she was kinda cute. But he was still allergic, no matter how cute she was.

"How about a compromise? We take the kittens back and get a puppy. A puppy. Singular."

"But I found this box of kittens in the street. I can't just take them back there."

"Then we'll go door to door. I'm sorry, Cas, but they can't stay."

Cas looked heartbroken. "Okay." He muttered.

They drove into town with the box of kittens. Cas was holding Bella in his lap. Just as Dean said, they went door to door. The green eyed black cat was the first to go. Cas called him Gus, as he was missing his left back leg, and he recently read a book with an amputee by the same name.

The next one to go was a little calico, which Cas named Felix. According to him, he just looked like a Felix.

The third was a fluffy little cream colored cat with gray tips on her tail, ears, and paws. She had such blue eyes, it reminded him of his vessel's blue eyes. So he named her Angel. Dean was against Cas giving them names, as once he did that, he became too attached. But Cas simply said he was too attached long before he named them.

The fourth was an orange tabby with a missing tail. Cas named her Ginger. And all that was left was Bella. He held her close and she was playing with his tie. He smiled down at her. Dean could tell he was breaking his heart, but this had to be done.

They walked up to the house and Dean knocked on the door. Pretty soon a woman answered and smiled at them.

"Can I help you?" She asked.

"Hi, we've been going door to door with these kittens. This is the last one. She's yours if you want her." Dean gave her a never failing grin.

"Really?" She asked with a laugh. But Cas didn't want to give Bella up.

"Cas, I'm sorry, but you can't keep her. You know I'm-" He sneezed again. "Allergic."

"Oh, that's a shame. My daughter just lost her puppy because she's allergic."

"See, Cas? This kitten could brighten a little girl's dreams. Besides, I said we could get a puppy."

"I don't want a puppy. I want Bella."

"We can name the puppy Bella." Cas gave him a look of disdain. Dean put a sympathetic hand on his shoulder. "It's for the girl."

Cas sighed. He looked down at Bella, who was purring in his arms.

"She'll be very well taken care of." The woman smiled. Cas thought for a moment. He reluctantly gave Bella to her. But when Bella mewed and extended her paw towards him, he nearly broke down in tears.

They went back to the Impala, Cas sulking in his seat.

"You okay?" Dean asked.

"Don't ask stupid questions." Cas mumbled. Dean felt bad for him, but there was no other way. He was allergic, simple as that. Cas made it clear he didn't want a puppy, so they went back to the bunker. Sam saw Cas's broken hearted look and was immediately concerned.

"What's wrong, Cas?" He asked.

"I don't wanna talk about it." He muttered, walking away.

"Dean, what happened?" Sam asked quietly.

"Long story. Can you keep an eye on him while I go, uh... run an errand?"

"Sure. What kind of errand?"

"Trust me, you'll find out." And with that, he left. Sam turned to find Cas sitting at the table, his head resting on his arms. He looked pretty upset.

"Seriously, Cas, what happened?"

"I don't wanna talk about it!"

Dean returned about an hour later with a big cardboard box. He found Cas in his room, asleep on the bed. It looked as though he cried himself to sleep, but he couldn't be sure. He set the box down at the foot of the bed. He leaned in, closer to him.

"Cas." He sang in his ear.

Cas sighed. "What do you want?"

"I wanna show you want I got you."

"I'm still upset with you."

"That's why I got you this." He opened the box and showed Cas what was inside.

"Dean, what is that?"

"I thought it was self evident." Dean smirked.

"I just can't except this."

"Is it not adorable enough for you?"

"I've just never been a rabbit person."

Dean scratched the bunny he was holding behind the ear. It looked just like Bella.

"Guess what her name is."

"Peter Cottontail?" Cas guessed, causing Dean to burst into laughter.

"Her name is Bella. And she's all yours. But if you don't want her, I'll gladly take her."

Cas smiled. Dean gave him the bunny. "She's cute. I like her. Thank you, Dean." They kissed passionately. They looked at each other and smiled. Until Cas sneezed.
