Cas was an adorable sleeper. Dean always got a kick out of his little quirks. He sucked his thumb, he talked and giggled a lot, and he had the loudest snore Dean had ever heard.
And sometimes, he'd sing in his sleep. Not much, but every now and then. Dean always looked forward to it. He loved his singing. Cas'd be sleeping there, drooling on the pillow, and suddenly start singing a number by the Beach Boys.
But there was always something Dean missed. He always fell asleep before he could see it. But one night, he discovered it.
He'd fallen asleep to Cas singing Little Deuce Coupe until he woke up at around 2:30. Cas wasn't in bed with him. He looked around, but couldn't find him.
"Cas?" He mumbled. He got no answer. Maybe Cas was downstairs.
He walked down to find Sam sitting in the library, using his laptop.
"Dean, what're you doing up?" He asked tiredly.
"I could ask you the same thing."
"Well, I'd probably be able to sleep better if I didn't have to listen to your boyfriend snore."
Dean half smiled. "Sam, I'm pretty sure all of China can hear Cas snore," Sam scoffed. "Speaking of my angel, do you know where he went? I woke up and he wasn't upstairs with me."
Before Sam could answer, they heard something clatter in the kitchen. Maybe that's where Cas was.
They went to check it out. Cas was in there making what appeared to be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
"Cas, what're you doing?"
Cas didn't answer. He just continued making the sandwich. He mumbled something incoherent.
"Cas?" Dean approached him. His eyes were closed.
"Dean, what's going on?" Sam asked. Dean looked at him.
"I think Cas is sleepwalking."
"What? Are you sure?"
"Well, unless he has an uncanny ability to make sandwiches with his eyes closed, that's probably what's happening." Sam shot him a bitchface.
Cas giggled. "Dean, don't do that. Sam is just in the other room." He started snoring softly.
"Isn't there that whole 'you shouldn't wake up a sleepwalker' thing?" Dean asked.
"Yeah, you should just take him back to bed."
Cas snorted and started singing softly.
"Help me, Rhonda,
Help, help me, Rhonda.
Help me, Rhonda,
Help, help me, Rhonda." He started to trail off, snoring again.
"It's moments like these when I wish I knew what he was dreaming about. Clearly, he's at a Beach Boys concert making himself lunch." Dean smiled.
"Just take him back upstairs. See you in the morning. I'm going to bed." Sam walked away.
"Good on you, Sammy!" Dean called after him. He only got another brief bitchface in response. He looked back at Cas, who had finished making his sandwich. It was like a big glop of peanut butter, grape jelly, and bread.
"I hope it doesn't taste like molecules." He mumbled sleepily, making Dean laugh. Dean gently started rubbing his shoulders.
"Cas, let's go to bed." He sang quietly in his ear.
Cas yawned. "Mkay." Dean was surprised that he heard him, but of course, he was very persuasive.
He guided Cas back to bed, the sandwich sitting on the counter. He laid him down and tucked the two of them under the covers.
"Good night, my sleepy little angel."
Cas snorted again. "Will you... can we be joined in holy matrimony?"
Dean smiled. "Of course we can."
