Season 6 End

I woke up and coughed, sitting up to see the burning wreckage of the jeep all around me as I hacked and coughed up smoke.

'How... am I alive...?' I asked in my hazy brain before everything clicked.

"TAU!" I called out aloud.

'I'm... fine.... most of your power is... gone at the moment....' He said quietly.

"What did you do?" I asked.

'Triggered.... your armor enhancement on both you... and Caboose, and.... Epsilon's storage unit.... we made it.' He thought in relief.

I sighed in relief and slowly got up to search for Caboose and the Epsilon unit. Finally, I found them.

I checked Caboose's pulse and made sure the unit was still running.

I looked up the tall cliff, hearing sirens up there.

'Feds' I thought.

Suddenly a flickering holo gram appeared on my shoulder before forming into Tau.

"There is an abandoned warthog a mile that way," He said, pointing, " I tapped into the red's helmets and got the coordinates to the new base the feds gave them after questioning. We need to go." He said, flickering slightly.

"I agree." I said, hooking the unit to my belt and throwing Caboose over my shoulder, grunting at his weight before beginning the slow walk. I was about to pass out by the time we reached the jeep. I unceremoniously threw Caboose into the passenger seat and buckled him in before taking the steering wheel and securing the unit in between the seats. Tau gave me the coordinates and I took off driving.

A lot of time passed and my injuries plus my exhaustion of carrying Caboose was catching up with me.

Soon the coordinates Tau gave me approached and a familiar green canyon appeared.

'They gave them the bases of the crashed spaceship?!?' I thought in shock.

'Looks like it.' Tau thought, energy levels in my armor back up to par.

'Wow.' i thought, driving the jeep around the side of the area, passing Sheila's crashed ship and towards blue base. There, I stopped, unloaded Caboose and picked up the Epsilon unit, staring at it.

'I can't stay here.' i thought.

'I agree with that.' Tau replied, seeming releaved.

'Being around the epsilon unit while it is projecting images is unhealthy for you and me.' I thought. I looked at Caboose, 'I have to talk to him....' I thought.

'Ohhh.... greatttt....' Tau thought.

Time passed until Caboose groaned and woke up.

Here goes nothing, I thought.

"Caboose." I said aloud.

"Huh!" He said, jumping up, "Mutey! You can talk!" He said happily.

"Caboose, I need you serious face, can you do that for me?" I asked him.

"Okay!" He said.

I handed him the Epsilon unit.

"Protect Epsilon for me, okay? I can't stay, but I will return." I said.

"Great!" He said.

I pulled off my helmet and looked at Caboose sternly.

"Caboose. No one, and I mean no one, can know I talk until I say the words, 'It's okay, Caboose.' Got it? It's life threateningly important. Do. You. Understand." I said slowly and sternly.

"Yes." He said.

"Repeat it back to me." I said.

"No one can know you talk till you say 'It's Okay.'" Caboose said, shocking me a little.

"Okay, good Caboose, keep that hidden, letting others know I can talk... could get me killed." I said.

"Oh no! You don't get killed! Only Church does." Caboose said.

I chuckled, "Exactly Caboose, so picky promise to keep it a secret?" I said, holding out my picky of my free hand.

He held out his picky and made a picky promise.

I patted Caboose on the shoulder.

"I should be back.... at some point. Stay safe... and remember: Keep Mutey's talking a secret. Repeat that back to me." I said, double checking.

"Keep Mutey's talking a secret." Caboose said.

I smiled and hugged Caboose.

"See you soon, buddy." I said, putting my helmet back on a walking away.

'So, your time rooting around in Caboose's brain there, will he keep the secret?' I asked Tau.

'He will, just in case though I left a little present that will make him even more confused if he thinks about saying it aloud.' Tau said.

During the time Caboose was passed out Tau was in his armor, waiting for him to wake up. As I walked pass Caboose to leave, I took Tau's chip out of Caboose's helmet stealthily. 

'Good, but I trust him.' I thought as I hopped in the jeep.

'Well, let us just watch from the cliff for a bit to be sure everything is alright.' Tau thought as the drove up the hidden back way, up to the top of the cliff.

I packed there, hopped out of the jeep and took off my sniper rifle, zooming in on the reds as they arrived.

'Connecting to sniper rifle audio enhancements...' Tau said as I watched the reds move away from the jeep they were in.

Then sound came in.

".....I just got word from our new Command. They said that thanks to our brave efforts in bringing Project Freelancer to justice, we can have full use of these former bases to continue our training exercises, until such time as they need them for more official purposes. Whatever the hell that means." Sarge said.

"Wow, that's great news, sir." Simmons said.

"We even got a shiny new jeep. Courtesy of the UNSC." Sarge said.

"yeah, but Sarge, what the hell is- uh, shotgun, by the way." Grif said.

"Shotgun- fuck!" Simmons said.

"What the hell is the UNSC?" Grif asked.

"Dunno, never heard of it. Sounds made up." Sarge said.

'Everything looks good there, now lets check Caboose.' I thought, pointing the sniper rifle at blue base. I couldn't see Caboose but I could hear him.

'Okay. Time to see if this works. I will get you back, Church.' Caboose said.

'That should keep him entertained and away from killing others or dying himself.' i thought, sitting up and hooking the sniper rifle to my back.

'Yep, deactivating armor camo.' Tau replied, my armor changing to my freelancer armor, my sniper rifle changing back to that blue tinted look.

I looked int the direction my coordinates.

'Coming to save your annoying ass, Tucker.' I thought, hopping in the jeep and racing off.

Woooooooooo!!!!! Season 6, done. Season 7 will be a bit shorter due to the fact that Mutey didn't stay in Valhalla. Season 8 will be long like Season 6 but hold more emotion, there will be a fun filler of what they did in Season 9, Season 10 will be short too. I plan to throw in memories at random times of Vermont's time in project freelancer, but ya, Enjoy! I think I am done typing for now! My hands are shaking.....
