I winced as I approached FLISS's broken board.
"Hhhhhhllo, this is a private facility. Hello, this is a private facility." She kept repeating.
I reached into the screen and cut the wire with one of my arm blades, making it stop. I then locked my arm blades again. Those would be a dead giveaway of who I was. I mean, Maine did gift them to me after that mission they took to that tower to recover the odd box.
But, as far as I knew, quite a few of them got some new and interesting tech from that tower.
I entered and typed away at the hidden key code area to close the doors so we didn't get any unwanted visitors.
'Bet you are quite glad right now that I decrypted those codes, huh?' Tau thought proudly as I used one of those codes to delete our existence from the files. I don't want the remnants of Project Freelancer finding us. Tau had long ago decrypted some unknown mess that came with the files I stole. That mess turn out to be codes for certain protocols, I decided that they were worth remembering. I was glad I did.
'Yep, I am' I thought, closing the panel and hiding it again.
BANG!
I looked off down the tunnel, suddenly on high alert.
'What happening?' I asked.
'Not too sure, I picking up on fast moving heat signatures, I think they are fighting.' Tau said.]
'Great, let's go stop those idiots.' I thought, racing down the hall.
".... breach, level Alpha. All personnel report for duty. This is not a drill." I heard from FLISS.
'Shit, they triggered a freelancer fight protocol.' I thought, peeking around the corner to see their asses getting handed to them by someone I couldn't see.
'Not one I recognize.' Tau said.
I hide back in cover, trying to think before peeking again.
'Ah, shit. It's Tex.' I thought.
Tau was silent for a moment.
'You do realize fighting her would require you show skills you are not supposed to.' Tau responded.
'That's why I said shit. I seriously don't know how I am going to....' I looked up to see Caboose in an overview room with glass.
'How do I get up there?' I asked Tau.
'Take the-' Tau's voice in my head was cut off.
"YOU RATTED ME OUT, YOU SON OF A BITCH!" I heard Simmons yell loudly, followed by explosions , yelling, and cussing.
Tau lit it up on my hud because it was too loud for me to even heard him in my head.
I walked through back hallways and entrances till I finally reached the door. I pulled.
"I am sorry, but due to an active training session, I cannot let you-" FLISS began to say.
"Code 45799HZ42." I said.
"I-I-error-Code Accepted, you may now enter." FLISS said, breaking slightly due to the protocol.
I pulled open the door.
"Um, can we use turrets on her or, some explodey fiery thing?" I heard Caboose say as I entered.
"That would be outside the bounds of my standard safety protocols. I cannot do that." FLISS said.
"Step back for a second, Caboose." I whispered.
He blinked and turned the microphone off.
"Thanks, buddy." I said, speaking at normal volume now.
