My mind went blank as I focused on my breathing, feeling embarrassed about the way I was acting. The thought that Billie might have noticed me was driving me absolutely insane. We hadn't spoken a single word—she didn't even know my name—but still.

"Lana, if you're going to act like this the whole time, I swear I'm leaving you here and never looking back," Kate said, clearly irritated.
I smirked and apologized. "Sorry."

"Let's go get ourselves a good spot for her performance," Lily said, grabbing my hand. We made our way to the area where Billie was about to perform. We got lucky—almost at the barricade. The place was filling up fast. Thousands of people wanted to catch a glimpse of her, and I couldn't blame them.

Feeling grateful for the moment, I rested my head on Kate's shoulder. She was texting Liam, our friend who sadly couldn't come. I smiled reading their messages, until she turned on her camera, making us look like complete dorks. I stuck out my tongue and closed one eye.
"He loves th—" I started to say, but got cut off when the visuals started flashing on the big screens. They were dark, eerie, and powerful. You could instantly tell what message she was trying to send. We were all completely entranced.

Then the music started.

"Bad Guy" kicked off the set, and Billie burst onto the stage.

She was full of energy, bouncing around like a firework.
"What's up, Coachella?!" she giggles as the crowd screamed. Her iconic space buns bounced with her every move. She started singing the first verse, and you could tell she was fully in the moment. It was the debut of "Bad Guy," and it was electric.

I took out my phone, snapped a photo, and immediately posted it on Instagram:

liamwilliams – I'm obsessed.

Billie's POV.
The crowd is wild man—dancing, singing, screaming. The vibes are amazing. While performing Bellyache, I jumped around and scanned the front rows. Everyone knew every word. "Where's my mindddd, I don't mindddd..."

I was about to sing the next line, but I froze for a moment when I saw a familiar face.
That girl. The one from the Ferris wheel.

She lookes incredible in her white dress, her long dark hair cascading over her shoulders. Damn, she really stood out. I held my mic up to the crowd, pretending I wanted them to sing the next part—but I was still staring at her.

When Bellyache ended, I laughed and looked around, trying to play it cool.
"Thank you all so much—this is insane!"

Lana's POV

The entire set was incredible. Kate and Lily danced beside me, and I sang and danced along too—it felt like a dream. For a moment, I thought Billie looked directly at me... but no, that couldn't be. There are so many people around. Still, it felt surreal. I was here, with my two best friends, listening to my favorite artist perform my favorite songs.
I felt a bit of disappointment when Billie announced Bury a Friend would be the last song. So I gave it my all, dancing like there was no tomorrow.

When the set ended, Billie thanked the crowd one last time before walking off stage. The lights come back on and people slowly started to leave. Kate threw her arm around me.
"I have to admit," she said, "that girl really knows what she's doing. Unreal."
She chuckles, and we agreed it was time to head back to the hotel. There weren't many other sets we were interested in at that point.

We stopped by the hotel store and picked up some chips and wine before heading to our room. Wrapped in blankets, we sat out on the balcony. It had gotten pretty cold, but the view made up for it.

"I can't believe we get to experience this," Lily said, pouring wine into our glasses. "Tonight was amazing."
"Agreed," I said, taking a sip and feeling the warmth of the wine slide down my throat.
"This isn't exactly the view I get from my apartment," Kate added, pointing to the hills in the distance.

I turned to look, amazed.

Just then, a notification popped up in my DMs. It was a request, so I had to approve it before I could read the message. The name said Billie Eilish. I raised an eyebrow. Probably just a fan account.

But then I saw it—the blue verification checkmark.

@billieeilish – Thanks for the love! You seem familiar. Didn't I see you at the Ferris wheel?

I almost choke on my drink. Lily and Kate look up. "You okay?" Lily asked, concerned.

I just showed them my phone.

"Pinch me. I think I'm dreaming," I muttered, my cheeks burning.

"LANA," Lily shrieked. "You HAVE to reply to her. This is insane!"
She tossed my phone back at me. "Like RIGHT NOW!"

I hesitated. I didn't want to come across as some obsessed fan. Maybe she just wanted to confirm if I was who she thought I was.

Not getting a response fast enough, Lily literally pinched me.
"Ow! Lil, what the hell?"

"Answer. Her. Now."

I took a deep breath and typed:

@lanabanana – Yeah, you did! I wasn't sure if it was really you. Your set was incredible. I absolutely loved it. Thank you!

It didn't take long for her to respond.

@billieeilish – Thanks! You seem like a fun person to be around. Are you here the whole weekend?

@lanabanana – I am! Here with my two best friends. We're staying at the Hollywood Orchid.

@billieeilish – Maybe we should meet up then! Being famous makes it hard to meet new people sometimes. But only if you're down! Let me know :)

I locked my phone and just stared ahead.

Did Billie Eilish seriously just ask me to meet up?
