While Ruels texting his family I send a quick text to Kelly, apologizing for missing brunch.
I put my phone down but it starts to buzz. I look at it and it's a call from Joey. I hang up over and over but he keeps calling. I finally go to the living room and pick up.
"What do you want." I say
"I'm so sorry baby, I never meant to hurt you and ......"
Blah blah blah
I leave him talking for a minuet about how he's sooo sorry and how he loves me.
After what feels like forever he pauses.
"Come on Nica. I thought you were my happy."
I thought you were my happy
He remembers.
