Nica's POV
Once we play a few more rounds of candy land (I won the last two games) it's about 5:30.
"Okay okay fine I'll give you the win but I'm done now" says Ruel
"Yessss. I told you I'm the queen of candy land!! But you gotta help me clean up." I say laughing.
"Fiiiiiine" he says dramatically.
Every time our hands touch I feel warm and fuzzy inside.
He makes me feel so......alive.
Gurl you gotta stop yourself!!
I go put away the board game in my bedroom and when I come back out I see Ruel standing in the living room.
He was staring at a blank white tarp on the back wall of the room.
Oh god. He's gonna find out.
"Uhhhhh whatcha looking at?" I asked nervously.
"What's behind the tarp?" He asks.
"The tarp? Umm nothing." I lied.
"Really?" He asked suspiciously.
"Yup. Just a tarp." I said.
"Anyways, do you wanna watch some tv? we can order a pizza or something" I say changing the topic.
"Sure"
"Are you okay with getting pepperoni?"
"Yup" he says
I call the pizza people and order a medium pepperoni and some breadsticks.
"They said it's going to take about 30-45 minutes." I say rolling my eyes.
"Okay. I also wanted to say thank you. For letting me stay and feeding me. I really do appreciate it." He says looking right into my soul.
"Oh really it's no problem."
"Well I just wanted to say thank you. Now what do you want to watch?"
"Hmmmm what about kung fu panda? The first one."
"Oh yes I love that movie!!" Says Ruel excitedly.
We both sit on the couch and snuggle up next to each other. I guess we are more comfortable around each other now than earlier.
After a couple minutes I feel his arm wrap around me.
I put my head on his chest and smile.
This feels so right.
