Ruel and I arrived at the studio about five minutes before our session. Coco had gone out somewhere by herself.
We walk in hand in hand, Ruel leading me through the doors and walking past the front desk.
"I'm nervous" I tell him before we open the door to the room.
"You'll be fine Nica. I believe in you" Ruel says, kissing my hand.
I take a deep breath and then let it out.
We walk in and Ruel introduces me to the producer.
"Mike, this is Nica, Nica this is Mike" he says.
"Hi, nice to meet you" I say shaking his hand.
"Nice to meet you too. Ruel told me that you already have some songs that you've written? Let's start there" he says, jumping right into it.
We stayed there for 4 hours, recording and producing 2 songs in total. They both gave me great tips, not only about music but also the industry as well.
At the end of the session he gave me his business card.
"Here, take this. Although I have a feeling that we will be calling you" he says with a wink.
"Wow thank you so much" I tell Mike, shaking his hand again.
Somehow, Ruel and I were able to calmly walk out of the studio. As soon as we step outside i start jumping up and down.
"OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH" I yell while shaking Ruels arm.
"YES YES YES" Ruel yells, equally as excited for me.
I jump into his open arms and he catches me and spins me around.
"Thank you so much Ruel. Thank you thank you thank you" I tell him.
He puts me down and kisses me.
"I knew you would do amazing" he says with a smile.
"Now come on, let's go get us some celebratory Timbits" he says.
"I could not agree more"
So we wait for our Uber, never letting go of each others hands.
