Chapter 50

I left Ruel at the kitchen table and went to the closet where the board game was stored. I forgot that it was at the top so I went back to grab a chair.

"What are you doing Nica?" Ruel says while I drag the chair over to the closet.

"Getting the game?" I say.

As I put the chair in place, Ruel comes up behind me and grabs the board game.

"Is this the Dora the explorer version?"

"Yeah it is Ruel, you got a problem with that?"

"No no" he says smirking

"I had it since I was FIVE OKAY" I say putting the chair back.

"Okay okay I'm sorry" he says, giving me a kiss on the cheek

I sit down, right next to him and grab the pieces.

"Okay do you wanna be boots, Dora, map, or backpack?"

"I'll take the monkey" He says.

"Okay then I'll be Dora"

I quickly explain the Rules and we start playing

We are nearing the end of the game when Ruel rolls the dice.

"NOOOOO" He yells when he has to slide down the snake at the very top of the board.

"HA YOU SUCK" I yell moving forward.

"Oh my goodness, if you win Nica...."

"Please roll a four, please roll a four" I pray

"No way, NO WAY" Ruel yells just as I roll a four.

"YAYYYY"

"HOW ARE YOU SO GOOD AT EVERY GAME WE PLAY?!?!" He yells running his hand through his hair.

"Ladies and gentlemen, that is a victory for me" I say, taking a bow.

"Oh come here" he says, grabbing me and pulling onto his lap.

He wraps his arms around my waist and I lean into him

"I win" I whisper

"Shut up" he says, putting his lips on mine.
