Chapter 18

*Saturday*
It is 1:00 am and I am standing in front of Ruel's house. It is not planned, because we would only meet at 5 a.m. I did not ask if he is home now, because I only see his car and nothing more.

When I ring the bell it takes a while until I hear the door open.
Ruel: "Hey?"
He looks at me in surprise. I sigh and look towards the ground.
Ruel: "Are you okay? Why are you so early?" He asks anxiously.
Yasmine: "I had a fight at home again."
Ruel: "Come in."
He gestures with his head inward and relieved that he doesn't ask any further, I walk in.

We go to his room where he sits down at his desk. His laptop is still on, so I assume he was working on something until I rang the doorbell.

Ruel: "Do you mind if I continue with the work I had to finish?"
I look out the window and I'm overwhelmed by the view. So much so that my thoughts are completely different.
Yasmine: "Oh no." I say quickly.

I keep looking outside and see something new every time. I wish I had brought my camera to take pictures. And that gives me an idea.

Yasmine: "Ruel do you have a camera here?" I ask out of the blue.
He looks confused away from his laptop and I see him thinking.
Occasionally he frowns and bit his lip.
Ruel: "I think you can find one in Coco's room. But I'm not sure. You can go find it."
I nod and then walk out of the room.

Fortunately, many doors are open so I can look inside and guess which room is Coco's.

When I think I have found the right room, I walk in and start looking.

First I look at the desk and cupboards. But when I can't find the camera there, I open some drawers and doors.

After searching for about ten minutes I found a camera. It is not the latest model, but there are options.

With the camera in my hand, I walk back to the window and start messing with a few settings.

I have taken some nice pictures of the view. But I couldn't stop laughing when I sneakily took pictures of Ruel's concentrated face. Finally he looked in my direction and there were still some beautiful ones from him.

Ruel: "Come here with that stuff."
Teasingly he walks towards me and tries to take the camera away from me.
Yasmine: "Mister thinks he can take pictures." I say laughing.
Ruel: "Of course."
I shake my head laughing. He is very sure of his case.
Yasmine: "Okay, try it. But do not set it in automatic." I say with a grin on my face.
I give him the camera and I already see him looking a bit complicated. He has no idea what he is doing. Because I see him pressing on some buttons that you do not need at all in this case.

Yasmine: "Are you succeeding?"
I try to look at the screen with a smile, but he turns it away from me.
Ruel: "I think I demolished it. The image is completely black." He says a bit unsure.
Yasmine: "No dude. Give it."

I do some settings differently and the image appears again.

Yasmine: "Maybe you'd better keep playing your guitar anyway."
Ruel: "As if you were so good at taking pictures."
Surprised at his remark, I look at him with wide eyes.
Yasmine: "Give me a few days and you have changed your mind."

I sit on the bed and connect the camera to my phone to transfer the pictures. Fortunately, it is very easy and I have them on my phone in no time. Then I take the camera back to Coco's room. But I don't put it where I found it. I put it on her desk and start writing a note.

Dear Coco,
Thanks for borrowing the camera. You will see the photos appear.
Ruel thinks I can't take pictures, but I'm going to change his mind.
Especially for you I will put some crazy ones in between. Then you can tease him again.
