It is Friday. That means almost weekend. Nowadays I don't know what I like more. Going to school or being home on the weekend. I don't want to be locked up, it feels like that, in a house with people I don't like, to put it mildly. I don't want to argue every minute. You are getting better at discussions, I notice that, but I don't have to. The weekend is there to rest, and it doesn't feel like that. Weekend feels oppressive, like pressure resting in my chest. I have less problems with that at school. There are people I can't trust, that's for sure, but there are people who care about me and are there for me when I need them. Where I feel more comfortable than with my own family. So while school sometimes stresses me out, it also gives me a kind of peace of mind.
June: "Hey." She shouts while running after me.
I turn my head and look at her when she walks next to me.
Yasmine: "Hi."
June: "Are you going for a swim today?"This afternoon we would all go to the beach after school. I had already understood that people would swim and I will not be surprised if the surfboards appear. A few people know that I probably won't swim after what happened a while ago.
Yasmine: "No, I don't think so."
Liam: "I think that's a shame." He suddenly says. He comes out of nowhere and now walks between us. He probably just followed us and when I gave my answer he wanted to join us. Well, I hope so.June: "Sure you think that's a shame." She says as she punches him in the arm.
Yasmine: "Oh, I'll talk to you later. I'll just walk over to Blake."
June: "See you later."I walk to the lockers against the wall where Blake just got his books.
Yasmine: "You're coming this afternoon too?"
Blake: "Of course, I miss surfing."I told you, the surfboards are being brought out again. I don't really care, I always like to see how people fall off their surfboards.
Yasmine: "How's your book doing?"
We walk into the classroom and sit a bit in the back.
Blake: "It's okay, reading isn't that bad."Blake: "Oh, by the way I heard Grace was talking to someone on the parking lot yesterday."
Yasmine: "Okay?" I answer confused. It's more of a question of what to do with this.
Blake: "No, I didn't quite mean that. I meant more about that guy being a little bit suspicious, and maybe we should be careful."
Yasmine: "Okay thanks. Did she say anything about it herself?"
Blake: "No, not to us."Who will she have spoken to? I don't think we'll ever find out about it, it sounds pretty private.
*Beach*
We all walk onto the beach, find a good place and put our things down.We came with different cars. Harrison, Blake and I were in Ruel's car. June, Ash and Carter sat with Liam. And Skyler and Grace rode with Maeve.
The surfboards are put in the sand and the beach towels are spread out. Everyone is going to change. I wear shorts with a bathing suit, even if I don't go swimming. Maybe I'll be lifted to the water and thrown in, I hope not, but you never know.
The sunscreen is also brought out and we start to apply.
Yasmine: "Should I put sunscreen on someone's back?" I offer. I don't let people rub my back so quickly. Then they must be trusted hands that I know. Otherwise not.
Blake: "You can do mine."After I put sunscreen on Blake's back, June did Harrison's.
Ruel: "Do you want to help me?"
Yasmine: "Sure."I make a smily on Ruel's back from sunscreen and rub it in with a massaging motion. With a little sunscreen on my hands I rub it good onto his shoulders and neck.
