You tried to ease your racing mind by listening to your girlfriend's soft breaths coming from beside you, but it seemed like every noise in the house was making you jump.

You've been restless for the last twenty minutes, wishing you could be sleeping as soundly as your girlfriend. But this is the first time you're staying over and with a long and busy day ahead of her, Rosé had to get to sleep a little earlier, and she knew the one way she could was with the lights off.

The room being pitch black made the sleepy feeling you'd felt before fade. Your mind was running wild and every noise made you jump. From the tree branches swaying with the wind and hitting the window lightly to the other window in the room being open, the wind blowing in making the door creak a little.

You tried not to wake Rosé, although you desperately wanted to. She's been talking about all the things taking place tomorrow for the last few days. Though her schedule is busy, it's always exciting, and you know she's gonna need as much sleep as she can get.

You tried to bury your face in her neck or lay your ear against her chest to hear her heartbeat. But she rolled over in her sleep and away from you, leaving you cold and anxious.

You pulled the blanket to your shoulders and squeezed your eyes shut to try to sleep. But the door creaked again, this time louder and longer than before, and goosebumps appeared on your skin.

Sitting up in a bit of a panic, you reached over to shake your girlfriend awake, far too afraid to even try to sleep.

"Rosé? Rosé! Wake up!"

The urgency in your voice startled her awake. Her eyes flew open and she heard you whimper and she rubbed the sleep from her eyes quickly.

"What's going on? Everything alright?"

"No! It's dark and I keep hearing things and," You paused, swallowing thickly and squeezing her forearm. "Please turn the light on. I'm scared!"

She sat up quickly and flipped the switch to the lamp beside the bed. She blinked a few times to adjust to the sudden light before scooting close to you. Her hand fell onto yours and she noticed your chest heaving as you took in rapid breaths.

"Breathe, baby." She comforted, running her fingers in circles over your skin. "What's got you so freaked out, my love?"

"The dark! The noises and the room being pitch black, I got scared and you rolled away and I tried not to wake you because I know you need your sleep but,"

"Shh. Slow down." She whispered comfortingly and watched you lick your dry lips. "Why didn't you tell me that you're afraid of the dark?"

"I didn't know if you could sleep any other way and I didn't want to be a bother,"

"Don't you ever think that." She spoke, but her voice was soft and sweet, not angry. "You're never a bother, especially if you're afraid of something. Honey, I want you to be comfortable when you're with me. If you're scared fo the dark I'm happy to change things around to help you. In fact," She paused, reaching for the remote to flip the tv on.

The dark room became bright as your favorite show began to play.

"How's that? Better?" She asked worriedly as she laid her hand on your shoulder.

You laid your cheek on her shoulder and started to relax, and even more so when her arms went around you.

"Sorry I woke you."

"Don't be. Let's lay back down."

"Will you hold me?"

She grinned and nodded her head before laying down and pulling you into her arms.

"Is it okay if I turn the light off?"

You nodded slowly and, since your favorite show was on, the room didn't turn pitch black again and it brought you relief.

"Alright. It's all okay now." She whispered softly, laying a sweet kiss to your forehead, then using her other hand to brush along your shoulder. "I love you. Feel better now?"

"Yeah. Much better. Thanks, Rosé. I love you more, you know?"

She shook her head with a smile and whispered, "Not possible because I love you the most."
