she wants your attention

Rosé's eyes lit up when she arrived home to find you sitting on the couch. Like the bookworm you are, you had your new favorite book propped up in your lap. Teeth absentmindedly sinking into the skin of your lip as you became captivated with every sentence.

"Y/N? I'm home!" She said excitedly as she took a seat beside you. The sun was still up - she was home much earlier than she expected to be, but she wasn't complaining about that at all.

You, however, were so enthralled by your book that you didn't even notice she was home.

"Y/N?" She let her head fall back to the cushion. She watched your eyes move across the page until you turned it to the next one.

"Baby?" She dropped her head to your shoulder and that's when she saw it; that beautiful smile of yours. The way your lips tugged up as her warm breath fanned against your skin. You were still into your book, just mumbling a simple hello before you turned your focus back to the pages.

"That's all I get? Just a simple hello?" She pouted playfully. You didn't answer. You seemed zoned out once again. So, she whined and moved her head from your shoulder to your chest. She heard you giggle and when she tilted her head up to look at you, you were already gazing down at her.

"Can I help you?"

"Yes! I missed you. I was kinda hoping you'd give me hugs when I came home." She pouted again, but this time it wasn't very playful. She genuinely missed you. She really wanted your attention. She wanted to hold you or to be held by you; either way was fine with her.

"But I guess you're busy..."

You scoffed and bookmarked your page. "Too busy for my girl? Never." You smiled and opened your arms. "Give me all the hugs you want. It's what I'm here for."

You could see that sparkle in her eyes as she turned around to drop her forehead against your chest. Arms wrapped tightly around her, you could feel the beat of her heart against your own.

"I missed you too, by the way. I get so into reading sometimes but that doesn't mean that I'd rather read than spend time with you." You mumbled as you looked down at her, combing your fingers through her hair as she sighed contently.

She pulled away from the hug and instead gave you a tiny kiss before giggling happily as you brushed your fingers along her sides softly.

You picked your book back up but only to put it on the table beside the couch. You pushed her head back down top your chest, happy to give her all the love and attention she wanted.
