"Y/n," you heard Rosie whisper in your ear and a sweet kiss on your cheek followed. "Baby girl. It's time to wake up. It's Christmas morning!"

Your eyes flew open as soon as those words fell from her lips. She couldn't help but chuckle at your excitement, finding it absolutely adorable how happy and giddy you become over Christmas.

"Good morning, cutie. Merry Christmas!"

"Merry Christmas, Rosie." You spoke before capturing her lips in a sweet kiss. "I love you. I'm so excited to spend today with you."

"I'm excited too. I have something special for you."

"Really?" You gasped excitedly as you sat up in bed. "I can't wait to open it!"

"Well, it's not exactly something you can open."

You raised your eyebrow in confusion, to which she just chuckled and kissed your nose.

"Stay here. I'm gonna go get it. Cover your eyes and don't peek!"

You sighed but obliged. As soon as you covered your eyes she started to head out of the room. There was a moment of silence before you heard shuffling feet and shushes from your girlfriend as she walked back down the long hallway.

"Okay, I'm coming in. No peeking." She warned, to which you just laughed and said,

"I'm not. Promise! Now hurry!"

You heard her sock-covered feet on the bedroom floor but you also heard something else, something that sounded like paws on the floor, following your girlfriend's feet.

"Rosie? What's going on?"

"Uncover your eyes and see."

You pulled your hands away and looked to Rose. But you didn't expect to see, there in her arms, the cutest little puppy. It barked excitedly when it saw you and Rosie let it go so it could gently fall onto the mattress and climb onto your lap.

"Oh! How cute!" You cooed and began to brush your fingers through its soft fur. "I can't believe this." You mumbled in awe as you looked back at your grinning girlfriend. "This is exactly what I wanted. I didn't think that..." you paused and looked at the pup on your lap. You were already falling in love with him. "I didn't think you'd actually get it for me."

"Well, I know how much you've been wanting a puppy and I figured it's time. We're in a serious relationship now, we've got our own home, and we can take good care of him. I knew there was nothing more perfect than this for you for Christmas."

You patted the space beside you and she happily crawled back into bed. You leaned over and gave her a soft kiss on her cheek.

"Thank you so much. I'm so happy!"

"I'm happy you're happy, baby girl. I think this little guy will be a great addition to our family."

You laid your head on her shoulder and gazed down at the puppy adoringly. The day was already so special, so perfect, and it's only just begun.
