surprising her on tour

The loud and excited screams coming from the several thousand fans in the arena were so loud you could hear it backstage in the girls' dressing room, where you were waiting to surprise Rosé.

Although she only left a few weeks ago, it's been tough without her by your side. The sound of her voice and her face through the screen of your phone when she has the time to FaceTime you were no longer enough. Not when there's a constant ache in your heart and the bed feels cold and empty and the house feels a little less like home without her.

You knew the setlist by heart. You got to see the girls' practice for tour before they had to go and, from all the videos you've seen posted by fans across social media, you know it all like the back of your hand. So you recognized it right away when they started to sing the last song of the show; as if it's your last.

You could hear your girlfriend's voice and it sent a flutter through your heart. The sound of her voice always brings you joy and, just like it does for everyone else, it brought you comfort, too.

You started to pace around the room a little as your excitement started to overwhelm you a little and sitting or standing still became impossible.

You listened to the girls thank the fans that came out and they stuck around for a moment or two to take some time to really relish in the extraordinary moments they get to share.

But soon, the quiet backstage area that only filled with crew members' voices and music from the show became a little louder. Four familiar and beautiful voices were heard, as well as a joyous laugh that was music to your ears.

"That was a great show!" You heard your girlfriend say and a smile tugged at your lips. "I'm so excited to call Y/N and tell her all about it! She loves hearing about the shows each night but I think she'll really love hearing about this one,"

You heard her voice getting closer and closer before she appeared in the doorway a moment later. The other girls were a little further behind because Rosé had gotten so excited to call and share everything with you that she ran down the hall when she was close enough to the dressing room.

She cracked a smile at whatever Lisa was talking about just around the corner, but it fell and she froze when she saw you standing in the room, already waiting for her.

Her heart was pounding in her ears as you sent her that beautiful smile that she's gone so long without seeing up close. She felt her knees going weak and her hands shaking from the excitement rushing over.

"You're really here?" She whispered in awe and watched you closely as you walked toward her and then took ahold of her hands.

"I'm here,"

You barely had time to finish your sentence before she was pulling you into her arms and spinning you around. You laughed and looped your arms around her neck. You could feel her heartbeat against yours and your chest filled with butterflies when she squealed happily.

"I've missed you so much! I can't even put it into words how much I've been missing you. I can't believe you're really here."

She set you down on your feet carefully, but you still didn't let go of her. You kept your arms around her neck and let your face fall to her shoulder where you finally were able to breathe out a sigh of relief because you were finally with her again.

"Are you okay?" She asked softly when she noticed you weren't pulling away.

"Yeah... I'm okay now. I just missed you a lot and I couldn't handle being away from you for another day. It all feels so weird without you. The bed is too cold, the house is much too big, and without you there to hold me and lay with me each and every night it doesn't really feel like a home. I missed hearing your voice in my ear and the beat of your heart. I've just missed you lots."

She cracked a smile and put her hands on your back, moving them along your skin in soft circles. "Look at me..." She whispered softly and cupped your cheeks in her hands when you pulled your face from her neck. "I've missed you, too. It feels so good to have you back in my arms again."

You leaned in to kiss her but only got to brush your lips against hers because three other familiar voices were coming from behind her.

"Y/N?" Jennie chuckled, looking just as surprised, but also just as happy as Lisa and Jisoo did. "You're here! It's so good to see you!"

She wanted to hug you, and so did Jisoo and Lisa. But Rosé sent them a look, wordlessly asking for a little privacy and a moment alone. Because you both need that moment after being apart for so long.

They just grinned happily and walked out the door. As soon as it closed, she was squeezing your hip and you looked back at her, only a split second before her lips touched yours. You melted into her kiss, feeling your stomach fill with butterflies.

"I love you." She whispered against your lips. "How long do I get you for?"

"A couple of weeks." You said as you brushed the tip of your nose against hers, making her laugh and feeling your heart fill with joy. "I love you more."

She shook her head with a big, bright smile before pressing her lips back onto yours and running her hand along the small of your back as the kiss grew just a little more passionate and she soaked in the soft sighs falling from your lips and right onto hers. "Impossible." She said, tucking a lock of hair behind your ear. "Because I love you the most."
