Your hand hovered over the knob of the front door and your teeth sank into your lip as you tried to rack your brain for any ideas of how you could apologize to your girlfriend.

You knew she'd be upset. She had every right to be! After working for almost three straight weeks, she managed to get only three days off. Always the romantic, she made dinner plans for the both of you at one of the fanciest restaurants in the city.

Originally, you only had a few things to do. Plans with your friends that you've had for weeks that Rosé understood and didn't even ask you to cancel on. It was only supposed to be for the morning and into the early afternoon.

But time slipped away from you and now the time is nearing seven o'clock in the evening and your reservations had been scheduled for five.

You felt terrible about it. You thought you'd open the door and be met with her yelling. You'd understand. In fact, you wouldn't even waste your breath trying to argue with her. You messed up. You're in the wrong. You'd take the punches that she's throw.

But you opened the door to find her sat comfortably on the sofa. Blanket over her lap, a cozy movie on the tv. She was calm and collected.

You closed the door and cleared your throat, but she didn't look your way. She just stared ahead at the movie.

"Rosé?" You let out a sad sigh and fell into the sofa beside her. "I'm so sorry. I don't know what happened. Time just slipped away from me. I,"

You paused, staring at her only to find her focus still be on the movie she'd turned on. Her jaw was clenched, but she wasn't even trying to acknowledge you.

"I'm not gonna make excuses. That's not right of me, especially when I'm the one who messed up. I'm sorry."

You placed your hand over hers but she quickly pulled it away and put it under the blanket instead.

"Rosé?"

She said nothing in return.

"I know you're mad. Please say something. Yell at me if you want to! I won't even argue back with you. I admit it, and I'll say it a thousand times more. I messed up. I'm sorry."

She looked at you from the corner of her eyes. You wanted desperately to hear her voice and she knew that. She knew you wanted that response; that you needed it.

"Please, Rosé," you pleaded. "I hate the silent treatment. Please say something. Anything!"

She remained silent.

Your eyes started to sting as tears welled up. She was so angry with you. How could you ever live this one down?

"Do you..." you let out a shaky breath, biting at your lip to hold back your tears. "Do you want me to leave? To give you some space for a while?"

When she still didn't respond, you started to slide off the sofa. Placing your bare feet on the floor, you went to stand, only for her to let out a sigh.

"Of course not."

Your breath hitched at her voice.

"I'd never want you to leave. I just want you to understand."

"How am I supposed to understand if you won't talk to me?" You pleaded. "I said I'm sorry and I genuinely mean it."

"It was so important to me." She whispered sadly. "This date was the first one we would've gotten to share in weeks. With how much I work, it's all I've been looking forward to."

She hung her head and, if possible, it only made you feel worse.

"You're the most important person in the world to me. I know it was only a date but... I've missed you. I've missed being with you. Seeing you smile, hearing your laugh. I've missed being with you."

She pulled her hand out from under the blanket and you didn't hesitate to take it into your own.

"I'm so sorry. I swear, it wasn't on purpose. I just lost track of time. I've missed you too and I'll do anything to make it up to you."

She looked up at you, a small smile on her lips.

"Anything?"

You nodded quickly.

"Give me a hug."

She opened her arms and you crawled into them right away. She let out a breath of relief and rubbed your back.

"I really am so sorry. Tell me what to do to make it better."

"Don't forget tomorrow's date." She teased. "I'll book the reservations again. Don't forget them this time, silly."

You chucked as you pulled away from the hug, cupping her cheeks in your hands.

"I can't forget them if I'm by your side all night and all day long."

She grinned and pressed her lips onto yours, pulling you onto her lap as her tongue swiped over your lips and she relished in each and every soft sigh that fell from your lips and fell onto hers.

"Have you forgiven me yet?"

She smiled a little, eyes searching yours to find genuine worry laced in your own. "You know I can never stay mad at you, my love." She said and her heart did leaps in her chest when she saw you smile. "But that doesn't mean you can stop kissing me."

"Wasn't planning on it, baby." You spoke with a smirk on your lips as you looped your arms around her neck, pulling her in for a kiss that took her breath away and made her wish that you never had to pull away again.
